Trent Edwards turned down Dolphins

Not that I would want any of these guys but are there any teams breaking down their door to sign them? I would rather have 2 weeks worth or a smaller paycheck than no paycheck.

Wow if thats true its a pretty sad indicator of our fo. delhome has worked with Daboll and must have bad memories of his offense lol.

It's a trend now....

Coordinators aren't exactly lining up to come to Miami either. Hell, you know it's bad when you have to hire the only guy who had a worse offense than the one you had to begin with.

Harbaugh saw what a mess this whole thing is.

Nobody is going to come work for Jeff Ireland. Ross is bad enough, but Ireland only doubles it.

Why would Edwards come to the workout if he didn't want to play for the Dolphins? That seems odd, but maybe he didn't need the extra couple hundred thousand dollars that he would have made if he played (or held a clipboard) the rest of the year.

Those QBs obviously don't have a passion for the game.....they are just idiots if they turn down a job. It doesnt matter what the management is like. Hey Trent....what other team is going to give you a job??!! Don't come back knocking when you can't afford your mortgage or car payment on that new Mercedes.

I don't think Ross has anything to do with it. It has everything to do with Ireland, Sparano, and the culture in the locker-room.

Sometimes I think Ross gets too much blame for a mess he really didn't create. And don't bring up the Harbaugh issue... Even if he didn't do it.. everyone knew Sparano was out the door.

Well I doubt delhomme or Garrard just need a paycheck that bad. Garrard not coming here was not about a lack of passion it was about us being cheap with him. We couldnt sign him as a qb because we would not give him a million dollar contract prorated so basically 750,000 dollars was his asking price. U cant blame him for passing, It was proibably same case with Delhomme

Why come all the way across country just to have a chance to stick with the team long term..

I think also he maybe waiting for something better to come along...

You gotta think its a hassel to move your stuff and all that..

But the situation is not very attractive either..

Think about it... This team is 0-4 with no hope of making the playoffs or winning many games. The pass protection is atrocious and already got one QB knocked out for the season. Why would any QB want to come here and get beat up for 12 games then thrown out the door?

I agree, the pile on Ross mentality is getting a bit old. Sure he made a mistake with the whole Harbaugh talks while Sparano was still employed. Other than that little mess, what exactly did he do to be judged so harshly?

Ross didn't hire Parcells, Ireland or Sparano. He wasn't the majority owner when Chad Henne was drafted. He let the football people do what they were hired to do and he concentrated on improving the stadium, the surrounding area and the overall game day experience for fans. He hasn't made one major decision yet that strongly impacts the football team. Deciding to keep the current head coach is not a major football decision. People shouldn't judge Ross yet until the see what he does when he has to make changes to the football sides of things. Who he hires as the next coach, what he decides to do with Ireland at the end of the year is where he should be judged. As for the stadium and surrounding area, you have to admit that he has really improved that aspect of the game.

He has been branded an idiot because he looked into improving the head coach position earlier this year and didn't pull the trigger. Ross is the second richest owner in the NFL, and you don't get to that point being a moron or not knowing what you are doing. Sure he made some rookie mistakes, but he will learn from that. People always say how Jerry Jones spends money and is wealthy, but keep in mind that Ross is worth TWICE what Jones is.

Let's wait to see Ross make some moves in regards to the football team itself before judging him. Everything here right now he inherited.
