troy aikman spouts off on #34

Just hope he doesnt have SAD anymore, and he wont.. But, seeing as how he faced that pressure cooker of a press conference and returned into what is arguably the most uncomfortable situation he could have placed himself back in, I think he has gotten therapy that has now greatly diminished his SAD.

Yea I agree. I think Wicky's main problem is he is so very smart and basically because he was a star football player his entire life and he was basically spoilt. He has never really had to use his brains. I think that side of him was feeling neglected. I do not think Wicky needs anything more than to finally understand what he wants out of life and what it will take to get those things. I think he now understands their is no shame in playing football only because you want $.

Honestly I have a feeling Wicky may have started down the right road. And I hope he gets everything he wants he deserves to be happy.

I still just cannot minmize what he did in the past. That guy really took a **** on all of us dude. :D

the links to this was in the sentinel this morning .
yes enigmatics i would chose griese over aikman why? because i truely belive in brian as a qb and you can mark this down if your stepdaddy wanny would have given the guy a chance he would have taken us to the super bowl. this is my own opinion . just like i belive in certain players because of my 12th sense . you have to understand that i am a unique dolphinfan that uses the force that flows through my jedi like body.
all i want in lfe is to see the phins go to the super bowl and also to have my face on the three dollar bil and maybe have a street named after me.:grouplaug

Forgive, never forget..

Anyway, I still dont think Troy has much room to talk unless he wants to badmouth his former teamate Irvin as well... He was only one line away from "quitting" on them for a year... Who knows if he snorted again after his arrest, its possible he did, just never got caught again..

It still wouldn't have been the same thing as what Wicky did. I'm sorry that makes ZERO sense to me. Quitting is quitting, doing wrong things is doing wrong things. Both are selfish but one is wanting to quit and the other is simply wanting to do wrong things.

I can more than see how the net result is the same, but I do think there is a HUGE difference. Just as what McM is accused of, if true it is just as bad as far as not being there for his tea mates. The net result if he is guilty is he let his team mates down as well. But it is still not quiting. It would be disgusting, and of course much worse than anything Wicky ever did off the field.

You still refuse to accept the very real circumstances that pushed him to that decision.. He was diagnosed, and he displays all the symptoms of, and he acted precisely in the manner someone with SAD would act under that circumstance, yet you cling on to the possibility it was a misdiagnosis.. Do what you wish, but there was a reason he quit, and it wasnt only to go smoke ganja... A disorder pushed him to that decision.. Does that make the act of quitting somehow noble? No.. It makes it understandable... Should he be punished? Yes.. and he is.. He lost MILLIONS of dollars, got ridiculed in the press, lost the respect of his teamates, got suspended for 4 games, etc.

When Irvin was snorting lines, he knew there was a chance his actions could directly lead to him not being able to play and help his teamates in the future.. That is essentially not caring, and that is essentially quitting on his teamates.

Bro, you're laugh. I'm not even going to begin arguing with a man who thought Brian Griese would've taken this franchise to the SB promise land.

Because that had nothing to do with why he did what he did. He quit because he was ashamed he was about to be suspended and his past failed drug tests were going to become public knowledge. He ran away from what he had done. He was not man enough to accept responsibility for his own actions. His possible misdiagnosis of SAD had ZERO to do with this.

I'm sorry I believe you are the one that is not accepting what actually motivated Wicky to retire. He was basically throwing a tizzy fit. He was saying I will hold my breath until you make this all go away NFL. Don't you know who I am? I am Wicky Rilliams!

Irvin has nothing to do with this. If you leave him out of this I promise I will not bring him up. I never brought him up in the 1st place.

Another type of this degree is the aforementioned "social trauma" in which it is an overwhelming fear that sufferers are often abnormally afraid of being judged, watched and possibly traumatically and publically humiliated (including being thrown out and banned) in public as a result of their actions, behaviour or appearance, thus leading to isolation and reclusion as a lesson learned the hard way.

Give me a break. Wanny didn't need to give him more of a chance because Brian couldn't get out of his own way in Miami. Sure he threw a pretty pass, but when exactly did he have the time he needed? Jesus he showed everyone he couldn't live up to Daddy unless he didn't have to move. Not when the game was on the line. Too much pressure...

Hmmmm....

Indeed he does act quite immature. I'm not sure if all immature ppl suffer from sort of SAD.

So Ricky was more of a man for doing it out in the open and quitting on his team mates?

Great logic.

Irvin didn't quit on his team-mates so Troy can talk as much as he wants to...

He was being interviewed and answered a question about Ricky (if its what I think it is) I seen him on ESPN, he just gave an honest opinion, I didnt think it was that inflamitory, worse things have been said on this board.

Hmmmm....

Is there another part of the social trauma where you go on national TV and tell everybody that you don't care how it affected your teammates? B/c I have to admit that sounds more like tizzy fit, spoiled, selfish, *uck you stuff to me.

I think you have to be mistaken about Ricky being so smart. If anything he has to be pretty stupid. And my reasons for saying this are this.

When he retired or quit or whatever to go smoke more dope. I am sure he was told what the ramifications were when he quit and what would happen. I am sure his agent told him various scenarios of what might happen.

You will get suspended. They may come back after you for breaking contract etc.

Ricky was stupid he went to smoke dope anyways. He was given various chances by NFL to rethink and come back and he turned them down cold. Another stupid thing.Surely he must have known he would end up in this boat he is in. Had he taken a different path and not retired he probably would not have so many things against him .

but I agree with you about everything you have written about our little problem child here.

No doubt, for a smart person he sure acts stupid a lot of the time.

I know a lot of smart stupid ppl.
