please, roth is decent but hes not the all pro player u are building him to be....
if he was really good we would of grabbed him in the 1st round at #32

u guys need to be worried about holding onto JT......

I think you guys need to worry about holding JT

Seriously, if you are telling me Ben Watson sucks or is going to be a non-factor assuming he is not injured again I am calling the kettle black.

This guys is a MONSTER. I am not kidding. I realize until he does it in the NFL, nothing is guaranteed, but come on, he has every tool you'd want in a big TE.

Please don't confuse him with Troupe. Any football fan who follows the draft knew what Watson was. Combine his physical skills with the fact that he won't be double teamed and he will present problems for defenses.

I totally agree on Watson. I was very upset when he landed in NE. The guy is a beast. I saw him live while he was @ Georgia and its scary what he can do on a field. he needs to translate those skills from the combine though to the playing field. If he does that he will be a Gonzalez or Heap or McMike type of TE who can really dominate.

Well alls I'm sayin is alot of rookies come out with all the tools u want at their position, and Watson didnt get off to a great start. Hes far from a guarantee is all I guess the main thing im saying. He could easily suck just as easily as he coud be this monster ur talking about. Should be interesting.

Cmon guys we ont want every free agent that rolls along I'd think boston & antwan eadwards would have taught us that Troys an animal dont get me wrong but I gotta feel like we are deep enough at wr. we need a QB and fast cmon Mr.Hyzinga? gimmie a shot. (ouch) mabey not me But somebody.

What is going on around here tonight?!?!?! :D

There have been so many great FIn fans simply talking honest football. I am very impressed. All I have been dealing with are these *new age* Fin fans who resemble whiny Coly fans lately.

All I ask for is an hoest assesment. Watson is not going to Shannon Sharpe (I wish) but he is a monster. Hopefully it will translate into a very good player.

StanMarino, as for his 'stats', please. Guy got hurt early into the season and never got to go through his rookie year. Takes a lot to learn and implement an NFL game. Reserve judgment until he gets to play, you might be surprised

To be honest, I don't know too much about this Watson character. But if he is the real deal where does that leave Daniel Graham?? They going to use a 2 tight end set?

I understand what ur saying(and the stats were more cuz somebody had said he didnt underachieve and didnt have any stats for the year at all) I'm just saying he is far from a sure thing in the NFL. Especially with the horrible start to his career. Like i said before its not impossible by any means and u maybe correct, but its not a for sure thing.

Yes. It will be an amazing new 2 TE set this season. Look up and read on Watson. The guys is so big and strong, with all the physical skills. I forget his 40 time but it was very good. He impressed a lot of people.

The other thing is that he is a monster blocker. Now, blocking in college vs. the NFL are 2 differrent beasts, but it is not like other good blockers didn't make the transition from college to the pros.

Our top 3 picks from last season were all out all year, so it is like we get 2 #1's, 2 #2's & 2 #3's this year. But, Watson is the one guy I just can't wait to see in action.

Very true. And neither is Ronnie Brown. Guy could get injured or simply not get it. Now I doubt that very highly, but he wouldn't be the first 1st round RB to not make it.

My point is, what you are saying about Watson could be just as true about Ronnie. And as for last year, seriously, he was a rookie TE playing for the Super Bowl champions. Why would they turn to him at the start of the season? Doesn't make sense. His stats from last year are irrelevant.

Honestly i hate injuries especially to young guys that just have a bad break(no pun intended). Although the recent Winslow incident only makes me shake my head, wondering what was he thinking. Even on a rival team i'll root for them to recover just cuz its a good story, to see people overcome such adversity. (although i cant say i exactly rooted for McGahee to recover lol j/k)

For sure Brown could be a bust cuz of injury or not getting it. U never know and that is what makes the NFL so interesting. Also makes picking in my money keeper league harder as well:(

Then we agree. Good football talk tonight. You guys are good.

Speaking of good stories..

That terrible accident that happened to Robert Edwards at the Pro Bowl a couple of years ago. After his amazing rookie year with the Patriots. It's a shame that happened, he was going to be special.

But regardless of that, it was great to see him work so hard to get back on the field with the Dolphins and win comeback player of the year. You hate to see injuries anywhere.

Yeah happened when he was at rookie probowl too thats rough. Hell we'll never know what we might have had in Yatil Green those years ago either.
