I'm sorry, but that's just delusional. There is no way Chicago gives up a shot at a guy who has much better tools and a higher ceiling for Tua. Tua's a really good QB but he's not an upper tier QB and he's not worth 50+ million.

That box of vanilla cigars, I just had delivered, got here in the nik of time.

Maybe I am an expert????

Somewhat off topic, i am not sure how LB is improved for example. we let Jerome Baker go, and signed Jordan Brooks. Seattle let Jordan Brooks go, and signed Baker. So I guess we think Brooks is better, they think Baker is better. We will get to find out. My suspicion is much ado about nothing and we are more or less in the same spot. Hopefully I am wrong and they upgraded. I am sneaky optimistic about the Cleveland LB Anthony Walker they picked up for almost nothing. If he can stay healthy, that one could turn out pretty good.
I believe Brooks is a marginal upgrade... not much, but a little.

...and he wasn't that much cheaper than Baker.

Sort of like going from a B- to a B.

One last Brooks vs. Baker thought... Baker's PFF scores have always been higher than Brooks'... every year.

He is one year younger, but he may not actually be an upgrade until you include Walker, who is potentially better than either of them... if he returns to form.

Every single post of yours is a live look at a brain hopelessly trying to defend an ego. Its ****ing lame to be honest.

Im here for football discussion, not a social experiment of people dealing with their insecurities.

I mean outside of you and your 3 friends discussing how long its going to be before the Fins can get Tua off this team, no... there isnt much to discuss...
No I discuss football and have highlighted the important difference between Tua's contract and Hurts, Lamar, Goff, Love and Lawrence.

Tua's deal is easy to get out of in 3 years, not true for any of those other guys.

You're the one who called me out on an old post after Tua was signed, talk about ego. Am I a "Tua hater" in your little mind and you were trying to get me? Cute.

I always said I wanted Tua signed, and I said many times I don't care about the AAV it's all about the GTD. I just wanted a team friendly contract and I believe Miami achieved that. God forbid I wanted to celebrate and pat Grier on the back for a job well done.

Before he was signed I said regarding the AAV "Not my job. It's all about the guarantees anyway and I just want Miami to have an out after a few years if necessary. I'm sure Tua's camp wants as much guaranteed dollars as possible. I'm on team Grier!"

You probably don't understand or care about the nuance, but you're thick headed like many on this site and you're wrong, as usual.

Ya I'm not keeping Austin Jackson if I am acquiring Wirfs and for multiple reasons.

First off, Wirfs is a better RT than LT, which is why TB is struggling to sign him as a LT.

Second, I like Patrick Paul a lot. So having him be an understudy to a guy like Armstead is ideal for 2024.

Third, I need to remove Jackson's salary from the 2025 books in order to justify spending to Wirfs at what I can only assume would be close to $30M.

And lastly, i don't want to give up the draft capital and Tampa is going to demand a starting OT in return, especially one who is a natural LT.

There might be a less than 1% chance of a trade happening but it would 100% include Austin Jackson if it did.
I stand corrected lol

I am definitely in the Tua camp. I do believe he can win us a superbowl but like Caleb has all the tools to be great/elite. If I were chicago I would laugh at that offer.

not ironic that you said that and the poster is someone I have on ignore, just good wisdom.

So, you are unsatisfied with an improvement that goes from a relatively good player at a position (B-) to a good player at the same position (B)?

Why?

I'm not totally convinced that Brooks is any better than Baker. His PFF scores are actually worse.
Baker got a bad rap here mostly because he was overpaid, so the fire-breathers would focus on a bad play or two and completely ignore his good ones... it's the nature of finding facts to fit one's narrative.
Brooks, like Baker, has very few big plays on his resume. 6.5 sacks and 1 Int in four years is not especially enticing. ...Baker had more, a lot more. So the anti-Baker people will pivot to... but but but... Brooks is better against the run! ...and they'll say that without having actually seen him play but once or twice. PFF certainly doesn't agree. Hell... Seattle let him walk.

But yes, Brooks is a bit younger, and a bit cheaper than Baker was, but then again... Baker only signed a one year deal with Seattle and for less than he used to make.

I think we'll be happy with Brooks, but I still think that a lot of fanboys just see what they want to see here.

Ya know?
