Tua ties Joe Montana

While the Houston game is one Tua would like to forget, he did tie Joe Montana with eight straight games completing 70 percent or more of his passes.

Tua finish 29-40 and now has a chance to break the record against San Francisco next week.
He probably will do it with all the screen passes he throws.

I am tired of stats. I want wins.

We are just like Jacksonville same state and all overpaying

We run our team like a fantasy baseball team, studs and duds. 5 or 6 guys making billions and a bunch of bums that shouldn't be in the league. We need to seriously upgrade the bottom 25 guys on this roster.
Yea this is spot on. It's how we've done it for decades too.

It's why those who are opposed to a rebuild feel that way.

We've never actually tried to build through the draft for any sustained period of time. We will have one good draft and then the idiot front office spends a fortune on a couple guys and thinks their job is done.

It's literally like Groundhogs day.

Definitely a forgettable game, but thanks for sharing.

Hopefully he has a good game against San Fran............

Yeah. I know some don't want to hear or read it. But ... Miami wins out, Chargers lose 2 more or Broncos lose out ( both possible) Miami still makes the playoffs assuming the Colts lose 1 lol

So there is still a reason we should all hope Tua plays well and is breaking that record

I'm crying over the 70 burger myself

Those massive amounts of screen passes that are high % that McDaniel uses (as an extension of the running game) cause he cant figure how to run (not with the garbage OL Grier drafted) are the reason for Tua high % of passes completed this year. Nothing to be impressed for. Now if he and Mike could someday defeat a playoff team, on december, on the road, now that would be amazing , cause thats what Montana did on a regular basis and they have NEVER done.

Absolutely true. Tua isn’t the only problem, but he’s one of them. I have tried to be a believer for a while now but at some point the very obvious deficiencies are just too much to ignore. It’s really very simple. There’s just no way a QB can be small, slow, and have a fairly weak arm and be great. It’s honestly impressive he’s as good as he is with the skill set he has to work with, but it’s not enough.

this is such a joke. more useless stats that people glom on to because they are just trying to convince themselves of something. data mining. confirmation bias. back when joe montana was doing his thing, the league avg completion pct was 10% lower than it is now. different game. obviously the rules have been changed. if tua was playing when montana was, he might not even be an nfl qb. back then, QBs could get killed. tua i do not think would have survived. the WRs couldnt run the routes they run now, because they would get killed. this is a lot of what the tua offense exploits. back then you had to be able to drive the ball downfield and outside the numbers too, tua cannot do this well. sprinter #400 in the world right now could probably beat the world record from 50 years ago too, and nobody thinks sprinter #400 is any good. this is all silly and just a joke. literally, can we win a big game against a good team for once and not have the QB crap the bed? and instead folks are going to glom on to more meaningless statistics without even trying to think about what they mean

To say this accomplishment is a nothing burger is pure hateraide.

Show me another QB, besides Tua and Montana, that has accomplished this feat.

Go on…I’ll wait. šŸ˜‚
I like Tua but bro, we throw a metric **** ton of passes behind the LoS.

I'm not saying it's his fault but it does cheapen the stat a bit.

All those screen passes, yay

but really this would be more impressive if we were winning. We are the biggest pretenders so this seems like a gimmick and probably will make most football fans just roll their eyes.
The Bills: Looking to break record for most consecutive games with 30+ points
The Dolphins: Yea, but QB Completion percentage!
