Tua vs. Stafford

I might be in the minority but I think Stafford is much better than "mediocre" and unfortunately lost his prime years relegated in what is undeniably the worst franchise in NFL (superbowl era) history.
Def, He's always been really solid but his team was horrible. I like him

Without Aaron Donald the Bengals win the Super Bowl.

My take away from this years SB?

It takes a team to win and coaches are just as important to the team as players.
You have to fight all year long and overcome injuries, bad calls, bad weather, etc, etc...
You need playmakers on both side of the ball.

No disrespect to Tua, but you plug him into the Rams team and they don't even make the playoffs. The team favors Stafford's strengths and Tua just isn't ready for a run to the Super Bowl....

Aside from pretending as if 1x career Pro Bowler Matt Stafford is anything more than just "pretty good" (and certainly not a first ballot HoF jfc...), it shows that the dude that never really won anything because he's not Mahomes/Rodgers/Brady etc managed to win the Super Bowl the first year he escaped Detroit because he finally landed on a roster worth a damn.

Also...
Offensive line is more important than QB.

I'll say it again for those in the back.

OFFENSIVE LINE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN QB.

It has always been that way and will always be that way. While QB is the most important position in all of sports, it isn't more important than the collective impact of the 5 guys standing in front of him. Worry about fixing that prerequisite of being a competitive offense before worrying about upgrading the guy behind them.

Stafford just lead the NFL in interceptions. This is a roster that just carried Jared ****ing Goff to 10-6 and a playoff win last year while he threw a whole 20 TDs over the course of the season and was 9/19 for 155 yards in the playoff win.

This hyperbole is just plain silly.

Just give him Kupp, Donald, Von miller, Ramsey, the OL, and all the other stuff then he’s good to go

Stafford’s SB stats: 26/40 for 283 yards 3 TDs and 2 INTs and 89 passer rating. I’d call that a mediocre performance in today’s NFL, and think Tua could do much better
What about his season overall?

Stafford has played pretty damn well.

He's also nothing like Tua. He has a freaking rocket arm lol

Yeah this is just plain silly;

Matthew Stafford final 2021-22 playoff stats:

11 TDs, 3 INTs, 1,188 yards, 8.5 Y/A, 108.3 passer rating, 4-0 record

I've always considered Stafford a top 10 quarterback. Not quite with Mahomes or Rodgers, but certainly a very good quarterback.

Tua's ceiling is top 10 IMO. He can get there if Miami puts more talent around him.

If Matt Stafford can win a super bowl I don’t see why Tua cannot. Mediocre QB play can get it done, and Tua is still ascending. You don’t need Mahomes or Rogers back there to get it done.

The Dolphins will need to build a strong team around him to do so. Keep building the offensive line, and strengthen our skill positions. We’re closer than most believe.

Happy offseason,
Tua not on stafford level

Who is our Aaron Donald?
