Ty Law interview w/Andrea Kramer

I stand corrected...it was LAST year that he said in several articles that he wanted to be the highest paid corner in the NFL........

"But at the same time, wherever I'm at, I just want to be paid what I deserve to get paid. And to be truthfully honest with you, I deserve to be the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. But that's not of the utmost importance right now because the team that I've proven that for and the team I've busted my *** for the last nine years doesn't realize or can't see [that] they're not giving me the proper respect or the contract that I deserve"

Still doesn't change the fact that over the last 5 years, he HAS in fact been the highest paid CB in the NFL....and although he is great when healthy, he has been spoiled, and is greedy....and an injury doesn't constitute the same salary

Just a few quotes from Ty Law......(from last year)....you tell me he's not spoiled!!?

"Law, who last month called the Patriots' four-year, $26 million offer "an insult" and "a slap in the face," -Yeah, 6.5 mil a year is such a bad way to live..poor Ty!!-

"Then again, I'm not going to sit here and say I don't want $7 million, either. That's stupid. Hell, we all gotta eat." -Which is a contradiction to him saying that it's not about money because he has that.-

"I would be a fool to take less than what I already make," Law said. "So you're telling me, if I make $17 million over the next two years, if I'm a Patriot, I'm going to accept $15.6 million? That's a pay cut. I said it a thousand times, I'm not taking no pay cut."
STAY AWAY FROM THE FINS LIKE THE PLAGUE TY!!

In today's interview, it was fair market value, not the top paid.

You miss the point entirely. He doesn't want fair market value for someone who isn't 100% yet coming back from a injury that is very tough to come back from right away. He doesn't want fair market value for someone who just missed a full year.

He wants fair market value. He has already made it clear he feels he deserves Surtain type money. Thats his fair market value. Top paid corner.

He is greedy and selfish. He wanted a raise last year because he couldn't feed his children, yet he was the highest or one of the highest paid CB'S.

Now he is making comments about how he would only make 10 million before getting cut. ONLY 10 MILLION. Come on don't be blind.

He is a pampered spoiled baby. Very talented when healthy but a spoiled baby none the less.

It seems that he believes that he was the reason for the Patiots success. Yet doesn't seem to acknowledge that last years defensive effort was probably one of their best defenses in a long time and it was without him.

If he feels he deserves fair market value. Fine give him a minimal contract that could make him the highest paid corner with incentives. You know why he won't take it? Because he knows it is much like Bostons and James injuries. It will take a full year before he gets back into form.

Oh yes someone will pay him. They will loose alot of money on a cripple who will most likely be walking the sidelines by week 6.

Until he proves he can get back to form he is worth nothing more then a minimal contract with some incentives.

If we are rating people on past playoff experiences our defense would be the lowest paid in the league and Lamar Smith should be offered a nice salary.

He is already using Surtains contract with the Chiefs as a barometer and he feels he is worth more than PS. If we were going to acquiesce to Law's cntract demands, we would have been better off keeping Surtain.

No thanks, then we wouldn't have drafted Matt Roth.

I'll take a just starting Matt Roth over a near the end corner like Surtain.

If Law is back in good shape this year, getting Roth and Law is better than just keeping Surtain.

I totally agree...

If Saban wanted to keep Pat around that much then he would have done. Yes, money was involved, but Nick wanted the pick.
