Ty Law interview w/Andrea Kramer

I've grown to despise Ty Law. As if intercepting our quarterbacks in the past weren't enough, the guy is so damn arrogant about his value. "They can't afford Surtain, what makes them think they can afford me?" As if he were lightyears of Patrick Surtain, one of the best corners in the league. Ugh, I hate that guy.

He is already using Surtains contract with the Chiefs as a barometer and he feels he is worth more than PS. If we were going to acquiesce to Law's cntract demands, we would have been better off keeping Surtain.

Ya so true but im still wondering what team is actually going to pay him that now?

i'm not here to debate law's skills or value, so sorry if this is a little off-topic. i didn't see a real big dropoff in secondary play for the patriots after the loss of law. they had other injuries in the secondary that also didn't seem to have an effect. they had rookies and wide recievers back there running around, so could it be their system? do their front 7 create so much confusion they disrupt the other teams passing plays? is it a defense similar to what saban is planning to use? i'm hopeing

Law is a good corner but not worth what he wants.

Let me get this straight first, I am not lobbying for us to pick up Law nor do I think we are even in the running. I just think its ridiculous to belittle the things he has accomplished in basically EVERY season outside of last when he discovered he had been playing (all about himself?) on a torn ligament. His stats, though very impressive, dont prove his worth. How he performed in the big games, mainly the playoffs proves how much of a gamer this guy is. He's played the majority of his career below his worth being on a Bellichick franchise that doesnt believe in paying huge contracts. I think its ridiculous for people to knock him when he refuses to play for a one year minimal contract, which is most likely what he has been offered from us. My impression from him hearing his interview today, and hearing reports on him is that he just wants to be paid reasonably for his worth and definitely for more than 1 year. He said himself that he is not looking to break the bank. I personally think he's already been offered a deal he's willing to accept but he's going to put them on hold at least until half way through training camp so he can be fresh for the start of the season.

He wants to be the TOP paid corner in the NFL....and with questionable health issues, that is NOT reasonable

When and where did he say that?

In today's interview, it was fair market value, not the top paid.

Yes he did say that but he has also said that "If we cant afford Surtain, how can we afford him" Which tells me he is wanting Surtain type money and at this point he is not worth it!

Never once has he said that. I think a lot of dolfans, a lot of whom were the ones hoping we'd sign him, have taken his comment about Surtain a little too personally/seriously.

apparently he's coming down on his offer.....let me see if I can find the article....does anyone else remember it from about a week ago?? Help me out here, I know I'm not the only one who saw it.......oh, and what about the comment that says "I'd only make about 10 mil before they cut me" or when asked why he didn't want to accept a several million dollar a year contract "I've got to feed my kids"....is that reasonable? NO, it's spoiled greed
