UH OH! Carroll Starting?

Nolan's mommy called Ross and told him to play his boy. The details of the favor will be worked out later...
 
Carroll covers like a linebacker. This is going to be ugly...
 
Does anyone know if there is a reason Jimmy Wilson hasn't gotten a shot? I know he's inexperienced but at this point I'd say hes a better risk than Carroll.

I doubt Miami was expecting the Patriots to spread the field with 4 receivers in that situation. Look at the personnel package Miami had on the field... that's not a personnel package you would use against an empty backfield with 4 WR's...

really? anyone with half a brain saw that coming, u cant be serious. If sparano didnt see that coming or even nolan, they are both idiots. The patrios saw the blitz coming a mile away, we were down 2 scores, little time left in the ball game, the safety would have given us the ball back, come on man..... it doesnt take a rocket scientiest.

Also, i dont think you understand the meaning of being sarcastic when i asked that question.
 
Roboiski has ZERO catches this season, but something tells me he will break his career long which coincidentally he picked up against us last year!

Of course Brady saw the blitz coming... He orginally had 5 WR's spread out (4 WR's and a 'flexed' TE). He saw that his 5 offensive linemen were outnumbered by the number of defenders Miami had in the box and showing blitz. Nolan didn't disguise it at all...

Brady simply motioned his TE in tight to block instead of running his route, it changed everyone's blocking assignment at the line of scrimmage by one gap to make sure everyone was accounted for...



That didn't seem to be your question though as I understood it. Looked to me like you were asking how Miami couldn't anticipate the Patriots coming out in an empty backfield/5 WR set inside their own 1 yard line...

The answer to that is simple... Nobody does.

Do you have any prior game film of the Patriots or anybody else coming out in a 5 WR set inside their own endzone? Unless you do, there's no way to anticipate that.

The Patriots aren't afraid to do unconventional things that go against the grain of "Football 101"... that's why Belichek is the best in the business.

However, if that's not Tom Brady back there, I doubt the Patriots do it.

Although I'd be glad to attend one of your coaching clinics to help me get a better understanding of what I'm seeing should you have one in my area any time soon...

Carroll got torched in Training camp, then continued the trend and got torched again in ALL pre-season games, then didn't give up the trend and got torched once more in 2 regular season games...
Benny Sapp at least cause an interception on Brady - What did Carroll do?

I don't trust this regime for 1 penny...

I agree. Quite frankly I would have had Allen starting over Smith if he is 100%.
 
We'll be fine with Carol out there....right?...oh ****. Might as well play with a CB down this game. It's no different that having him out there.

One of those catches was a touchdown, where Smith was completely lost out there in zone coverage... and the other one came within a foot of being a touchdown, and would've been had Smith not accidentally touched Hernandez's foot...

actually, i have seen players come right in and play decent cus they are not expected to know anything but get to blitz and do some things on their own knowing the basics. its when they actually have to learn the sets and start thinking when they get confused.

but this coach isnt going to play him.

well, if there is a team on our schedule to blitz, this is it. 2nd year QB and less than stellar WR's. yeah, nolan better bring it in this one.
