Unimpressive "D" Scheme

I know this was the first game but i am rather unimpresed with this d philosophy compared to what we have done in years past. I mean i am all for blitzinf if you actually get to the qb but I saw alot of sell out blitzes we ran and they picked up pretty easily also I thought because of the scheme when zach was in, the o line was getting a helmet on him alot!
 
Uh we didn't scheme and we barely blitzed AT ALL.

What, you want us to unveil everything in the first preseason game and give Denver tape to study for week 1?
 
this is preseason, we blitzed a couple of times to see how the new schemes are doing. Saban like most coaches isn't going to blitz a lot, why would you "show your cards" on a meaningless game as preseason. You do a little, but you save the good stuff for the regular season.
 
they barely gameplanned for tonight if at all... we must be patient and see what is coming up... i have no doubt that once the players are more comfortable with the schemes and it is a little closer to the regular season we will ge a little taste
 
this game was just a warmup game for the players to practice against someone else and get some of the rust worked out....and primarily for Saban to get a look at the lower 1/2 of the roster before the 1st mandatory cuts.
 
The scheme was that we didnt scheme. Its the first preseason game.
 
i havent bowled since April since my league ended, last night I went to practice for the first time to get ready for my Septemeber league. I shot 167, 248, 239. So if I based everything on my 1st game I guess I should just quit and never bother showing up for my league. You guys are unreal sometimes. It was the 1st organized game since December for the fins and many new faces and a new coach. Geez! It has/had zero/few implications for the most part.

exactly... it's preseason who really cares.

our most productive player last night (lorenzo diamond) will almost definitely not make the team. it just doesnt count.

I for one am hoping Diamond makes the teams cause that will mean that Lee was cut (hopefully).

No brother we blitzed quite a bit. It was just caught and contained dayum near everytime. Im patient with that though. I have faith that those bugs will get worked out by the end of preseason.
 
Hank Goldberg reported before the game that the Dolphins were going to play in their base defense throughout the game and blitz frequently.

They did not gameplan.

Do not worry about schemes in the preseason.

Zach got blocked out of nearly every play last night.
