UPDATE: Stadium proposal APPROVED/Ross will sign a 30 year lease with Miami-Dade

Would have preferred a new stadium.

What you said Dude. How many times have we renovated this piece of crap? Why are we the only Team in the NFL to not build a new Stadium, in a better location? Same old crap on the Field and Off. Not too Stoked. Wanted a new Stadium...

The stadium is fine...It's the product on the field that's should be people's only concern.

Tom Garfinkel was on WQAM and said that smaller projects will be done this Summer around the stadium. All the seats will be replaced and new seats closer to the field during the upcoming offseason and completed for the 2015 season. The canopy and new video boards will be done for the 2016 season.

Seems to me like most of the sunlight/heat will still be going right through the canopy....why couldn't they create a canopy roof that actually blocked out the sun, like Allianz Arena in Munich, which I think holds 70,000 fans?

Sun Life Stadium Renovation Proposal

Does anyone know what improvement will be started in a few weeks and completed before this season?

This is what I'm interested in. I wonder how much louder it'll be now that less sound can escape. Couple that with closer seating. I like it.
Unfortunately it's not really closer seating. iIt's exactly the same seating with a few rows added in front of what already exists.

None of the existing seats will be any closer at all. What they could have done is take one of the sideline stands and move it much closer in and reset the field so that every seat was closer. THAT would have been louder. But that also costs a lot more money.

I was hoping for a new stadium, but Ross was never going to fund that. This band aid gets him through the rest of his life as owner, which was his goal. We will have one of the worst stadiums in the NFL for at least the next decade, probably much longer.

Sent from my phone, so please forgive any typos.

Sooooo... if they're adding in rows closer to the field, how is that not closer seating?

I don't think it's fair to say it's one of the worst stadiums. Sure, in a decade it may be, but not at the present moment. At present, it's a mediocre stadium, like the team.

Truly bad stadiums include Qualcomm and the Black Hole. Those are garbage dumps.

easier when you are building an entire stadium

My understanding is the entire lower bowl will be redone after this season. It is not just adding seats closer to the field.

Not just the lower bowl of seats, all the seats in the stadium will be removed and replaced. Apparently the seats will be slightly larger than the ones currently in the stadium. The four corners of the stadium in the upper level will be completely removed for the four big HD screens. Though those screens won't happen until 2016.
