Updated playoff standings. We own our own destiny

Tampa,SD,Jets at home,Bills we'll all be favored in.

Steelers on the road, no matter how bad they are, is going to be tough as is the Jets on the road if we split there and split the 2 games we'll prob be dogs in Carolina and NE then we'll get in. 9-7 may even get it done as long as the team we're tied with isn't baltimore

I have a feeling we will be swept in our divison or maybe only win ONE game

We controlled our own destiny week 1. Halfway thorught the season alot of teams should be able to control their own destiny unless they are like 2-6

Yeah, I was going to be nice and leave this alone but I got a chuckle out of the header. Maybe a handful of teams in NFL history haven't controlled their own destiny when they had only 4 losses.

When I was a kid I do remember an incredibly unfortunate Baltimore Colts team that missed the playoffs despite an 11-1-2 record. They were in the same division as the Rams, who finished with the same record. To make it worse for the Colts, they were unbeaten entering the final week of the regular season yet missed the playoffs. It's true. Look it up. That was a heavily anticipated game for more than a month, the two teams that were dominating the league meeting in the season finale. Los Angeles won convincingly. A year later when the Jets upset the Colts in the Super Bowl I thought back to that huge Colts/Rams meeting, and how Baltimore had flopped. So seeing them do it again wasn't exactly startling.

As a teenager I was jolted in 1975 and 1977, when the Dolphins missed the playoffs twice despite 10-4 records. In '75 we were flawed and I didn't think we had much change against the Steelers but the '77 team had a surprisingly upbeat year and I would have liked to have seen them in the postseason.

I really don't like the way they do playoffs. Say the Bengals win their division with an 11-5 record, and we come in 3rd place in our division with a 12-4 record...we miss the playoffs. Doesn't make much sense to me. The top 6 teams should make the playoffs regardless of division.

Unfortunately, a win tonight that ties us with the jets still looks bad after comparing out 0-2 division record with their 2-1 record...

Beat them the 2 times we play them and even if the records finish tied. Head to head counts before division record, so just handle the business

Thankfully we have a better conference record which would give us the tiebreaker for the wild card which is the only thing this team could accomplish. We have to at least split with the jets to have a chance

That does blow my mind. I guess the two ties were no help.

This whole KC Denver thing will make that number 6 spot hard to get

Then let's hope the Broncos beat the Patriots, and miraculously Miami does not lose another game from here one to win the AFC East.
