Should be a good warm up for the simple fact that John O'Brien will finally get to try out and impress Arena. He has grown his hair out...:lol:

Also, Tony Meola will start! It is about time! I have been saying this for a long time. Let that man play one more game. He will start tonight...and he will be the first US Goalie to reach 100 Caps!!!!!!! He has 99...and I didn't think he would ever get 100, but he will...it is official, he starts in net today.

I predict a 3-0 victory.
 
1-0 Jamaica in the 4th Minute....

I thought Jamaica could score one...but I hoped for Meola, that he could get his clean sheet. US will still win..and I still think will score 3. US is attacking non stop. Meola's 100th cap :woot:
 
Congrats to the man that proudly wore his pony tail. Never really cared for Tony much as he was a bit too wreckless back there.

Yeah but it's better then staying in the net and letting them score. Atleast is he's agressive it throw alot of attackers off so it's good to be wreckless sometimes.

First they get destroyed by Germany then they tie Jamaica and they are a top 5 team in the World rankings. I hope this finally brings them to #20-25 on the rankings

The USA keeps track of assists??????????????????????????????????????? I thought it was soccer not hockey:sidelol:

Also when the MLS came out they didnt have penalty shots when teams ended up tied in the playoffs, they had shoot outs. They used to keep track of assists and add them up to goals for the top goalscorer, but I dunno if they still do that.

I really really really worry about this team. I don't think they will do well.


By the way do you remember that Meola once tried out as a kicker for... the JETS.

Prime Time somehow I feel we are the only ones discussing soccer... Are you going to be able to watch all the WC games? I don't have SKY (mexican Directv) so I can't access all the games, supposedly they are only going to show the 30 best games... which means that I will probably miss most if not all of the action.
 
Well from what I know here in the US, they show all 64 games on the Spanish Channels. 23 and 9 here. Also, for the first time, the USA is claiming that they will show ALL 64 games thru Espn, Espn 2, and ABC....

You lucky *******s, we are stuck with almost no games, unless you can afford sky, which not everyone does, since I think you also got to get the world cup package. If I where to keep this job I would consider it, but this job sucks so much I cant bring myself to it.

During my high school years, we used the shootout for our tie-breakers and I must say, I prefer it over the penalty. I think it really levels the ground for keepers and makes it more skill than luck.

Go ahead and cry blasphemy at me for not liking the penalty, but dammit, I played defense so I'm all about making it harder for the little flopping pansy strikers!

Yeah and in 2002 they showed quite a bit of games i believe although all the US games would be early. I remember waking up around 3 am and watching them before school.
