My point is Vernon Carey was a first round pick, he was supposed to be so talented that on our poor O-line he would surely be a rookie starter like Webb, Simms and even Todd Wade.
The fact is he struggled as a rookie, he mentally couldn't learn the playbook, and couldn't crack the starting lineup.
That is a disapointing rookie season for a first rounder that we gave up a first and a fourth round pick for.
So therefore I will reserve my faith in Carey until he actually proves he is a starter when the real contact begins.
Matt Roth on the other hand has not disapointed us yet, I am excited about him and believe he will impact this team in his rookie year.
There is no contradiction there, Carey had a bust rookie season, if you want to get excited about how he looks in a non-contact mini-camp then go right ahead, I'll wait for training camp and the pre-season.
that's completely false ... some people are practice guys and some are gamers and some are both ...just look at the reciever we had a couple of years ago, i think his name was baker in preseason and practice he looked like j rice, but when the games counted he disappeared ...Shamboubou said:
