Very uncool QB situation ...

With the uncool QB situation, what should our FO do?

The current hype is Tebow's stock is low so his trade value could be a 5th or a backup defensive player.
So Miami could test him as slash player more than pure passer.
I'm not buying that "hype" and I have no interest in giving up any picks, even late round ones, for a "slash" type player. Tebow isn't going anywhere, and thank god for that.

I was trying to understand how pissed is people of this FO's decision to stick on Henne & Moore.
I mean if Orton could be available for the very expensive price of a 2nd round pick or worse, only a desperate team could agree for such deal.
The Tebow option was to explore if someone is in love of him, because it's insane to think he's an upgrade over Henne, but could turn into a slash player for Daboll.
And the other is to find some options I've missed. Of course i forgot to explain that Carlson Palmer is discounted but hell it was funny to see that several guys still believe in Santa.

I don't feel the Dolphins are in desperate search for a QB, YET!
Chad Henne or Matt Moore will make an average job, but that could be more than enough.
I'm firm on the idea that with a great great defense we aren't urged of any Manning to get into playoff.

yea moore was so averagly good his team drafted qb high twice in the past two seasons and he fell behind a rookie named Jimmy Clauson who was horribble which makes more even moore horrible .

Clauson was the number 1 QB in the nation coming into ND and thrived under Al Weis's pro system (not that that did any good in making one of your favorites, Brady Quinn anything more than over-hyped ). His bad attitude dropped him into the second round, not his skillset - but unlike lets say Orton (who not uncoincidentally was a 4th rounder for obvious reasons), he still has the potential to be a franchise QB if he matures and is put in a more nurturing environment. Comparisons could be better made between Orton and Moore - in this case though, the guy running the team was an all world e elite SB QB who apparently wanted anyone but Orton to start - even giving Quinn the benefit of the doubt to screw up again.. probably his last chance). McDaniel who is no HC, but sure is an offensive minded talent drafted Tebow to replace Orton, even after Orton had a pretty decent year, at least stat wise and largely thanks to Marshall. I'm not championing Moore, but similar circumstantial arguments you make against him can be make against your cupcake of the month, "3 and Out Orton" also, since a guy who knows QBing as well as anyone would prefer anyone but him and an offensive minded coach was looking to replace him even after some decent stats :idk:

Just because Elway was a great qb doesnt make him the best judge of qb talent. Chris simms a SB qb seemed to like Beck quite a bit in miami and we all know how that turned out.
Love how u give credit to marshall for the previous year while orton statistically did better wihtout Marshall and a player that never did anything put up superior numbers to marshall with orton at qb while Marshall did not do the same magic for Chad henne somehow. I also quite remember the chargers drafting phillip Rivers even though they had Drew Brees on the team so did that mean Brees sucked. still dont understand what this has to do with Moore sucking with Carolina .

I'd take Brady Quinn before Timmy Teblow anyday

I think the poll should have included Orton for a 3rd but oh well

say what u want about tebow sucks blah blah
the dolphins struggle inside the twenty
and tebow would be great in short yardage situations

if i could get tebow for a fifth id do it in a heartbeat

Im sure any team trades a fifth for Tebow. The fans here are so fickle they want a franchise qb for a third round pick even when we keep wasting 2nds for never was, has beens and injured qb's.

This situation really shouldn't be that hard to deal with.

Henne is our QB with Moore pushing him.

The Dolphins have a 1st round pick 2012 to draft a QB. The 2012 class looks to be excellent. There could be as many as 6 bonafied elite prospects next year. The Dolphins probably won't even need to trade up.

I expect Brandon Weeden to have a huge year. I could see the Dolphins drafting him late in the 1st round. IMO, he will be NFL ready coming out of college.

I would rather have Luck or Jones but that will probably require a trade up.

I would have traded down in this year's draft and taken Kaepernick late in the 1st round and signed Marshall Yanda and went with Incognito and Berger one more year and drafted a center in the 2nd round of 2012.

Kaepernick and Yanda would have brought more to the offense for the next several years than Pouncey and Daniel Thomas, and the Dolphins could have drafted TE Jordan Cameron with their 3rd and another top player with the pick they got for trading down.

I hated this year's draft except for Gates.

Things have been set in motion. Dolphin fans have to wait another year for a real QB prospect.

Whyis Tebow and option in this poll???? Denver just used a 1st rounder for him andfans see him as the second coming of Christ.

Tebowsucks. He's 3rd string in Denver right now behind Orton and Brady Quinn forgoodness sakes.

Tebow was picked by the last regime and plays a style of football their currentone does not like. From my understanding he is not a guy that can be pluggedinto any system, but a lot of experts are saying if a team was built around himhe could be successful. But I agree.... I doubt there is much trade interest ina shortened offseason.

At this point I do not see anyfranchise guys, be it short term or long term, becoming available. I think theBroncoes sit on Tebow and see if his value increases in the offseason when ateam would have a full offseason to build... that is if they view him as afranchise guy. Palmer is retired at least for this season (speculation he dropshis contract on the Bengals next year forcing them to either clear 11 millionbucks of cap room or trade him), and the others are taken. Orton IMO is asystem QB that would not be worth a 2nd. If you guys could find a vet to pushHenne this year I think that is your best bet.... but barring a Tom Brady like miracleI think you may unfortunately need to wait until next draft to get your guy....which is unfortunate because I want to see a team not coached by bellacheat orryan win the AFC East.

Did I miss something? Elway thinks he has a couple of 'hall of famers' on his roster and wants to be compensated in kind, despite what he has said in the press. This is the reason we could not get Orton (who most of the Denver fans hate). He wants too much. Who thinks he is going to let Tebow go for a 2nd... maybe 2-1sts. He wanted a 2nd and a DL starter for Orton. I'm glad we did not trade anything to Denver, we've spent far too much on QB's not to have a great one. Henne may yet be serviceable.

I'm not even voting in it. At this point, I'm okay with sticking with Henne as 1 of 2 things will happen. Some magical switch will go off in his head and he'll suddenly become a good quarterback, or he'll continue to suck and bring down the FO and Sparano with him. They're tying their careers to Henne, just like Wanny tied his to Fiedler. That will open the door to bringing in a staff that understands the basic concept that the QB is THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN FOOTBALL. It's really a win-win.

Quoted for truth.... I agree in full. Sink or swim with Henne. No panic moves for a qb please at the eleventh hour.

It seems tome that people want anybody but Henne at the helm. The more I digest the situation, there isn't a clear replacement available. Half the posters are playing Madden in GM mode in their head thinking that we can just go get or trade for anyone that we want and it will automatically lead to a championship.

No I'm not overly excited about Henne... But I certainly don't see a "Significant" upgrade available either.

Not unless u think a qb that would throw half the interceptions that Henne would would help, im sure that wouldny help us more in the long run
