Would you take Hostetler, Trent Dilfer, McMahon, and Rypien over Vick?

Cause all they did was win superbowls. If winning is everything, then I assume you would.........

Vick isnt a BAD football player. I never said that. He is still young and can only get better and improve his passing..... i mean he cant really get much worse.

I just think he is the most overrated player in the NFL. Until he makes it to the Superbowl, his wins dont mean squat.

I cant believe Im having this debate with a Miami fan. You must have been a Fiedler supporter cause all Fiedler did in Miami was win.

I can pay a RB 1/3 of his salary to put up his rushing numbers. And I can pay a mediocre QB 1/5th of his salary to put up his passing numbers.

Its not just his numbers, its HIS SALARY. For his salary, he should be putting up MUCH better numbers. But he isnt.
 
Vick didn't beat us anyways, 17 points on the road is usually a loss. Their defense/our lack of an efficient offense lost that game. For him to come out after that game and say what he said shows what an idiot I already knew he was.

they won a superbowl. and they dont win games all year long with bad teams. take Vick off the Falcons, theyd be 2-6 or something bad.

Take Dilfer off the Ravens, they still win with one of the greatest defenses in the history of football.

your comparing apples to oranges here. and actually i was a fan of Fiedler. up until he broke his thumb, he played well most of the time.

and i never said that u said Vick was a bad football play, infact i said we all know he isnt.

Vick did beat us. He kept our offense off the field, the scored doesnt reflect what he did that game..

Youd take Vick over McNabb and McNair? Id even rather have Culpepper, atleast Dauntes body can handle the punishment.

but im tired of dolphin fans saying they wouldnt take Vick cause they could just put a RB back there to do that, as he beats us with his arm.


also, i would take Vick over Culpepper.

So what do you think of Marino then...

Vick did beat us, he had 4 drives of over 70 yards. He played a very good game as a QB. I would take him if we could afford it. And you saying we could put a running back in at 1/3 of the cost and QB to put up those passing numbers...but the fact is he does it in ONE, making it seem there offense has an extra man, that is his benefit and the reason all he does is win.
 
the vick haters are funny, but the vick lovers are even better. he can't do no wrong in their eyes. he's a servicable quarterback, nothing more. let it go

Marino was the best QB never to win a superbowl. If you ask Dan if he would trade his records for a ring, waddya think he would say?

I could put a RB in there for 1/3 of his cost AND a mediocre QB in there for 1/5th of his cost that would put up the same numbers as Vick.

You are correct, Vick does that in one. He is a great runner and a mediocre QB... ALL IN ONE! I couldnt have said it better myself.

For the ACTUAL cost of Vick, I could have a stud RB and a QB who can actually pass for 300 yards on any given Sunday. :lol:

Vick is a great player theres no doubt about that. His passer numbers are pedistrian but he is a different type of Qb. The Qb ratings and stats just dont measure what he does. Atlanta wins with him, not despite him, but because of him. Vick is the leader of his team, they need him to win. Who are the great wrs he has to throw to? I dont see em. We stacked up the line, made Vick beat us with his arm, he did it. Im not sure what the problem is with Vick, but Id take him here in a heartbeat. He does have a big cap number, but he deserves a ton of money, he is the biggest draw in the NFL and he returns the investment by leading his teams deep into the playoffs.

how bout a QB that completes 60% of his passes, has a good QB rating AND wins? like peyton manning, tom brady, donovan mcnabb, carson palmer, eli manning, ben roethlisberger, trent green, jake delhomme, mark bulger............all good passers with good records

yea, hes a servicable QB, no doubting that. but hes more than a QB, he takes over the game more than just a QB.
