If it's such a big deal to him that he honored his contract, he should also acknowledge that the Patriots held up their end. Now, it's the Patriots right to use the tools availiable to them to structure their cap room in such a way that's beneficial for their team.
Owners and management have families to look after too, and part of that is using every legal tool in the box.
If Wilfork has a problem with the franchise tag, he should take it up with the NFLPA. They (the players) are the ones who agreed to it. He should honor that agreement too since those that speak for him did that deal.
