Vince young may drop in draft

Young was probably going to fall even before the Wonderlic.

Remember, 2 years ago as a RS Freshman he had Williams,Thomas, and Sanders as his WRs and Benson as his RB. He struggled to get PT from Chance Mauck.

As A sophomore he still had Benson and two decent TEs. He played in a pro style offense again and was pretty unimpressive. People were saying that Mauck should be getting the nod sooner rather than later. His best game as a Soph, was the Rose Bowl, when Mack Brown let him run.

This past season the offense was so simple it wasn't even funny. He was in a shotgun and he either handed it off from an option, or ran. When he did throw, he lobbed it up to WRs that were over 6'3. You want to know the best corners Young faced all year? His own corners during practice. The only other CB in the Big 12 that is even considered a First Day prospect is Charles Gordon from Kansas. The only team he faced outside of the Big 12 with a Corner with a First Day Grade is Ohio State (Ashton Youboty). Not only that, their safeties Whitner and Salley are both first day prospects, along with the 3 LBs. The OSU game was by far Young's worst game. Yes even USC's secondary was horrible. Bing is the only First Day player on that defense (that's in the draft).

If he has great workouts he'll rise again, but he's falling because of past struggles in a pro-style offense. The Wonderlic score doesn't help. Sure, some great QBs have had poor scores, but all of them had fewer question marks than Young did.

Had Young worked out at the combine you would've heard less about his poor test score, but the fact would've remained, he is falling in many scouts' eyes. He actually started to slip as Cutler began to rise. It doesn't help that guys at other skills positions (Huff, Hawk, and Davis in particular) are having excellent combines, and all 3 are a bigger need than QB for most teams in the top 10.

..and there are thousands and thousands of players who also did poorly on the Wonderlic, and they aren't in the HOF. What's the meaning of your statement? ;)
the fact that marino is even the only example people use shows that the exception is clearly not the rule.

hard to say but i agree...after a great Rose Bowl Campeign, he is then put in the headlight of the football world...and then everybody starts to see what is "wrong" with this guy. The fact that he is as smart as "a monkey that flings poop" doesnt matter....his game is seriously flawed...and the fact is known that he wasnt in school to get an education makes it worse...

Actually, Culpepper and McNabb were also provided as examples.
