its very scary. Yes he was a bad play caller but now theres nobody to help clueless philbin out there

It's a start, but probably just an excuse to keep Ireland and not deal with the real issues. If shermin is responsible for the last 2 years, how much more is ireland for the past 6?

LOL I like how mistake has 0 votes.
I do think it's a mistake, in a sense that the team will keep Tannehill, but now without Sherman and a new OC. Good luck with that. But there was a better option in the poll. Ireland needs to go.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow!!

Later dude don't let the doorknob hit you on the way out! Now we can get Chud, Kubiak someone who has got a clue as to how an offense is supposed to be run. Thank you Jesus!!!!!

Not much. I was watching ESPN and Linda Cohn announced news from the Dolphins would follow the commercial. I hoped that a flash like that meant Jeff Ireland's dismissal. When it was merely Sherman, I thought back to local failures, like Larry Coker desperately making several changes to his staff to appease the University of Miami administration and local fan base. Nothing changed. Coker was canned one year later.

Meh.

He wasn't the biggest problem and firing him -- while a good move in and of itself -- meant Philbin was more likely to keep his job, which isn't good news.

He didn't do a good job but he's basically being scapegoated to protect other people who aren't doing a good job either.

It is evidently clear they are both gone if we don't make the POS next year..., and we had better not back in..., this is the SHOT across their faces...

This is ridiculous. They need to get a GM of Philbin's choosing, and let Philbin finish his plan. The man was hired to implement his plan and other than the initial offseason, now for 2 straight seasons he is being undermined, which directly undermines the success of the team. Ross should've fired Ireland when he hired Philbin. This is a mess.

Haha, just wanted to see if I could pick every choice and it worked, was that intentional?

Anyway, I wanted a new GM first and the staff dealt with second. Sherman was likely getting canned anyway so I am indifferent on the move and am not a fan of the way it's being handled. Seems like the same ole crap to me. Ross should have fired Ireland, hired a GM and stepped back and let his new GM set this thing up. Seems like we're stuck with either Ireland or a forced marriage between GM X and Philbin. Likely more wasted time and another OC getting ripped on here for running a piss poor offense.

Yes… as there's a little bit of truth to each option in the poll. Interesting, though, where the majority of votes are falling.

I, for one, had two things I couldn't put up with anymore:

1) Weak, pathetic running plays… like a half-back toss on 3 and inches… WTF?!?! (And worse, still, that after not having it work… not once, or twice, or three times… but at least a half dozen times… we just f'ing kept going back to it. Unbelievable.

2) No… and I mean NO - ZERO - NADA - ability to adjust game-plan in the 2nd half.

THAT above is the main reason (in my opinion) that Sherman got himself fired… that and maybe the rumor that his players (not just T-hill) basically quit on him.
