Walker: Hickey received offers to trade down at 19 but wanted to stay to pick James

I think if we run an o that utilizes mostly box tackles and real move guards like UVA with Lazor this makes sense but the further down the field James gets the less interesting and lost he looks...maybe Benton can work on that...just don't expect the athlete he tested as minus the 40...

If you want a right tackle that moves guys off the ball in the run game or wins consistently in it this is not and I stress is not the guy

Just a observation but every lineman drafted since Philbin has been head coach, Martin, Thomas and James all appear to be more finesse linemen. Could this be the type of player, bigger emphasis on pass blocking and less on run blocking, he prefers? Perhaps he feels it's easier to teach run blocking than pass blocking? I don't know. Just a trend I noticed today.

I would expect more of a pass based o with our tackles now...it's a pillow fight on the outside

Dude you could have traded to 27 got him and gained a 3rd...as soon as Martin and Mosley went off he should have been out...instead he took the need...this guys solid in pass pro although he oversets but wait til you see him down the field in the run game...he's lost..,and he makes it a pillow fight at right tackle as a run blocker...I could understand pick 50 but to not trade out there to 27 and still get him...I mean really wtf...his bpa talk was bs

..... and our LT is poor in the run game too. Oh joy!

Let's face it Hickey has his nose to far up Apontes skirt to make a sound judgement in the draft. The rest of the NFL knows what's going on here in Miami and they want no part of it which is why we got stuck with Hickey and now are paying the consequences. Well IMO this should be a quick death. Start drafting your new coach and GM and pray Ross comes to his senses and escorts Aponte from the building soon.

Which would lead me to believe they have a ton of faith in Tannehill being able to lead/command this offense. How much would it help getting Sua Filo in the 2nd? I wouldn't mind seeing finesse on the outside with a tough and quick moving/pulling interior. Which if you have Sua Filo at LG, Pouncey at C and Smith at RG is exactly what you'd have.

Complete and utter nonsense.

Fire Hickey.

Fire Hickey and whichever scout covers the Tennessee Offensive Line.

If it gets to 50 I will eat my shorts...that said if the tackles are gonna be so finesse may need som pop on contact at guard...but then again you don't have high end move athlete anywhere but center...I could se them taking a gabe Jackson if they want some pop and strength at 50...he validates the grade also...

Sua FILO at 50 I see like no chance he gets there

One thing about jawaun James he anchors well in pass pro...but he can get off balance or overstep and then he's in trouble...

But he wouldn't have been there for the Fins as all the Nostradamuses have claimed. All this BPA stuff is nonsense. You have to fill needs. If the Fins had James rated as a 1st round talent, so be it. IMO, they got a guy who will be a first day starter. Didn't we spend all last season bitching that the BPA that we drafted didn't get on the F'n field?

No, we bitched because we reached for an injured part-time college player who everyone was in love with because of his physical measurables.

Well then enlighten me boss..2nd level and on the move in the screen game is important part of zone tackle play but you tell me

We'll at the 2nd lvl most likely the Tackles are out of the play already with kick outs....Unless you have 4.7 release speed after 1st contact.

Walk 10 steps then see oops the Rb is past me.

In a pass happy league fewer Tackles are leaned on to make those release and recognitions as a rookie ecspecially a Rookie...Stop acting like every ****ing play is a bubble screen or something of the sort.

That's right I am BOSS!!

I agree and definitely think they'd have to trade up for Filo. Jackson is interesting.
