Walker: Hickey received offers to trade down at 19 but wanted to stay to pick James

What details do you need? We have direct comparisons with the trade Arizona made so I think we have a very clear idea of what the details were. Opportunities to add value with little to no risk are generally good moves.

Really?

And there's your proof fire this garbage ass gm...

Agreed. I was patient when he ignored Monroe and Veldheer for the older more injury prone less run blocking Albert and grossly overpaid him. I was patient when h let our only double team demanding DL go (Soliai). I was patient when he massively overpaid on an old injured CB who hasn't played well in a couple of years (Finnegan). I was patient when he failed to secure a single starting caliber OG in free agency.

I wanted to give him the draft to see if he could evaluate talent. But, to wait until all the good OL are gone and refuse multiple trade downs to reach for a no - power poof with very sloppy technique and no work ethic Immediately following the disasters of Jonathan Martin and Dallas Thomas ... is the last straw.

Fire Hickey.

Fire Hickey and fire the scout that evaluates University of Tennessee Offensive Linemen.

We'll at the 2nd lvl most likely the Tackles are out of the play already with kick outs....Unless you have 4.7 release speed after 1st contact.

Walk 10 steps then see oops the Rb is past me.

In a pass happy league fewer Tackles are leaned on to make those release and recognitions as a rookie ecspecially a Rookie...Stop acting like every ****ing play is a bubble screen or something of the sort.

That's right I am BOSS!!

Yeah you boss aright...ha ha but you make some fair points...keep going

No one here can say that none of the teams picking 20-26 didn't have james as the next highest rated tackle in the draft. meaning if Miami traded back, there is no way to tell that none of those teams would have drafted James. Sure, many FH draft guru's might not have had James as a first rounder, but they probably didn't have Dee Ford and Marcus Smith in the first round either. So you never know. Miami got a day one starter and a position of need. In an ideal world, of course it would have been nice to trade down and still draft who they wanted, but that's not guaranteed.

Just to play devil's advocate here, nobody knows if he would have been there at 27.

All you saying you know what other teams have as their draft board is just hilarious. "He wasn't on my board here" blah blah, that's why you post on forums.

Don't worry hickey will be posting here soon enough

Oh well no point in arguing I don't hate the player I just hate the fact and yes I said fact we gave up an easy trade down op due to need on a guy that with Miamis scouts maybe he did validate a top 20 grade...hell these same dopes said dion Jordan was the top player in last years class even though he wasn't a scheme fit so nothing surprises me

I have to say this again...... A repeat from last year....... But I am questioning our scouting staff. I'm really not impressed.

They should have fired the whole lot after last years debacle...

Agree 100%. What is the common denominator with Ireland and Hickey? The retards putting together the grades on the retards we seem to pick every year.
