Wallace sucks

When the car crashes, blame the car, not the driver, I get it. Wallace did what he was bought in here to do, and that's get open deep, and stretch the defense, that's his game. Tannehill is not good at the deep ball, it's no secret. Every fraking week the announcers even mention it. Wallace is the wrong guy for Tannehill.

Wallace did what he was brought here to do. Get open deep. The qb failed. End of story.

After 2012 we complained about the deep ball, after 2013 were still complaining about it. Mr franchise is 28th in YPA. Last year 22nd. So it's not just Wallace that doesn't get the desired YAC its everyone.

I wish we would complete deep balls as much as anyone else. I just dont judge a QB based on one type of throw. Tannehill fits the ball into tight windows all the time. How come everyone bitching about the deep ball doesnt say anything about all the throws tannehill makes to guys like Clay who has a guy draped all over him?

I thought he was brought here to make plays....

I mean he didn't even have to make pinpoint throws where he was dropping it in over a db to a well covered receiver. Wallace was doing all of the work for him due to the separation he was creating. Failure.

Umm because his deep ball is my only point of contention for the most part. Why complain about completions he makes in the short to intermediate game?

its not like im sitting here blaming one and not the other. Theres plenty of other threads on the main page to bash tannehill and his deep ball. I made this thread to point out that Wallace is also to blame. I dont see how he is blameless. If someone can please tell me how wallace is blameless and the lack of wallaces production is fully on tannehill.

And what you consider Wallaces game....it sounds alot like Ted Ginns to me. Soft, doesnt catch with his hands, doesnt run good routes, doesnt go over the middle...just run deep.

so you bash one part of his game but cant praise the other? seems a bit absurd to me...

You started a thread titled "Wallace sucks" now you're talking about Tannehill's game. We're not here criticizing Tanny's game, were here defending Wallace because someone can't throw a deep ball.

As bad as the deep ball has been, Wallace still had close to 1000 yards with NO deep balls. So tell me again how he's a one trick pony.

Actually, he was brought here to catch the football when it touches his body. Wallace failed.

So Tannehill gets no credit for Wallaces almost 1000 yards...just blame for the missed deep balls. Do you even realize how stupid that sounds? Like seriously...

When you bring in a guy predicated on the deep ball, and your whole coaching staff, GM, and fans talk about it all off season, you would like to see atleast 1 completed in our 16 game season. Is that too much to ask? If so, I guess I'm an asshole.

No. It's not too much to ask, but Wallace has dropped as many balls as Tannehill has over or under thrown. FWIW, big play receivers win battles, something Wallace needs to learn.

Well according to you, Wallace sucks, so I guess Tannehill gets all the credit for Wallace's 950 yard season but he get none of the blame on the double digit missed deep balls. Who's back tracking and playing the double standard role now. Wallace is open on nearly all his catches, he's a good receiver with a great deep game. Too bad we're paying $60M for a guy, that we can only use his decent short and intermediate game.

He doesnt catch with his hands, he doesnt catch the ball at its highest point. In order for him to catch a pass Tannehill has to throw a near perfect pass and it has to hit wallace in the bread basket. He is not a good wide receiver. He is not a playmaker.

Wallace was the 4th best receiver on this team this year behind Hartline, Gibson and Clay. All 3 of those guys are better wide receivers than Wallace. All you fools are obsessed with and are fixated on the deep pass like its the only way Wallace is capable of scoring.

Nobodies obsessed with the deep pass but they got him because he is a deep threat. Football is full of specialists and when you pay a lot of money for one you should expect him to get some opportunities to make plays. They didn't give him enough opportunities because the long balls thrown to him were either way overthrown with no chance to make the catch, or underthrown when the catch can be made if you've got a tough receiver who battles, which unfortunately Wallace isn't but its also easier for the db to break up the pass. I do know 1 thing for sure he opens up the rest of the field for others to make plays. Also Ben R. didn't have any problem utilizing his skills.

Anyone watch the lions, ravens game a few weeks back? Megatron probably lost that game single handily with his drops, you don't see the lions fans chastising the guy. Drops happen, they shouldn't but they do. Even the great receivers have some drops, but atleast most of the great receivers that get open downfield have a shot at making the catch.

Big Ben also prolongs plays like no other, he made Wallace an even better deep threat than he already was. We just don't have a QB that can do that. Wallace's skill set is being wasted here and for a whole lot of money.

It's like everything else they do on this team. They try to stick a square peg into a round hole and its been going on for way too long.
