WalterFootball.com -- Day 1 winners & losers -- Yup, Dolphins are losers

Everyone on here who says this guy is not a first round talent should shut up. No one knows anything guys like Russell Wilson went in the 3rd and Richard Sherman went in the 5th if we re drafted they would be 1 st round picks.

Valid point, but all we can do is react now with the info that is available today. I hope I'm wrong, and I want James to be a Pro-bowler for the next 10 years. That would make me very happy. But the pick left me very dissatisfied, and I am now very skeptical of Hickey's ability to conduct a draft. That's just how I feel, and I can't help it. Sorry.

Again, that mock was based on them knowing what Miami's grade was for JuWuan James. They predicted us to have a terrible pick, and they were on the money.

Now the real question is --- How did they know Miami's grade for JuWuan James before the draft? Does anyone find this disturbing besides me? This is another ding against Hickey. Does he have a leak on his staff? What's going on here?

James was reported to be one of 5 tackles the fins had a first round grade on in pre-draft articles by at least two local beat reporters. Its not like they got their information from a secret inside source. It was pretty muck common knowledge how they had him rated.

Bumped to underscore the ridiculousness of this particular thread as "ammunition"

"Oblivious Disingenuousness:" Hate Walter for mocking him to us pre-pick... and now love Walter for condemning the actual pick they mocked. You really can't make this **** up. :idk:

I don't get what you are trying to say. They predicted us to make a terrible pick. They had info before the draft that Miami had a first round grade for JuWuan James. Based on that info, they mocked James to Miami. Just because they mocked him to us, doesn't mean they agreed with the pick. They predicted properly, and then bashed Miami for being predictably stupid. Your logic is flawed. Take a minute to think it through. Lol.

I don't understand how they can be considered draft losers by drafting a player they had a first round grade on... I'm very critical of this organization as a whole throughout the years but I do feel I understand how teams go through the draft in prospecting players. They were in love with this player, felt he was a top OL prospect in this year's draft and graded him very highly. So how was he a reach? I would have loved a sexy pic as well, but we all knew going into the draft that what this team needed was an infusion of talent on the offensive line...bar none. At the end of the day, we just have to see how this all plays out.

If you are correct (and you must be), they did what they had to do, but in these situations, where a team likes a guy that everyone else thinks is much lower talent, the rest of the league is usually right. Hickey and Co. had better be right, though, or it bodes very poorly for the future.

Ok, but how did the local beat reporters know that James was 1 of 5 tackles that the Phins had a first round grade for? Not looking to make a mountain out of a molehill here, but there is something wrong with this picture. Things like this can hurt the Dolphins on draft day and should not be an issue.

I'm so sick of hearing "we drafted a need so it's awesome!!!"

News flash, we've been drafting to fill needs for like a decade, how's it worked out for us?

Mmm. Tannehill. Pouncey...Hartline...Vernon....misi....plus others. That's just off the top of my head...

Walterfootball.com? what the hell kind of site is this? lol. I wasn't a fan of staying there and picking James, but more reputable sites like Cbssports actually liked the pick.

and listing the Cowboys as a loser for taking Martin is a joke. He might be the best value in the draft.

You will not see those sites posted because it doesn't fit the forum agenda.

How many games did they win us last season? 8? Oh that's right.

Keep drafting to fill needs and all it guarantees us is well all be watching other teams in January going "next year will be different!"

CBS Sports ranked James as the 38th best player. That is actually a much higher ranking than most other sites, but that is still 19 spots later than where Miami picked James.

You do realize that Miami has drafted only one probowler since 2009, right? (Mike Pouncey in the 2011 draft)

Well I could be wrong too...that's the thing. This can all blow up in the team's face a couple of years from now if James is riding the bench. Or it will end up being a great pick, future hall of famer...maybe just help solidifying the offensive line for many years to come. Bottom line, no one really knows what the Dolphins' value for J. James was...other than...the Dolphins. And amateurish, fan attempts to qualify this as anything else is just that...amateurish. I say let it play out and see. I disliked the D. Jordan pick last year as the team's attempt at BPA approach...was he a contributor to the team as the 3rd overall pick? No. But I am reserving judgment to see how it plays out this year.

So them picking what they believe is best value at the position and filling a needed void? Why not. Definitely can't hurt but lots of upside.

I was stunned to see Kiper liking the pick. He always hates the the Dolphins' moves in the draft.

Armchair GM's are the losers. And it's obvious very few if any on this forum come anywhere close to gathering the amount of research a NFL personnel department does.
And yet we could probably do just about as well considering the stellar talent accumulation
this club has done.

So, you're suggesting that Walter Football knew that Dennis Hickey was going to draft poorly, despite him never actually making a pick before...and you're telling OTHER PEOPLE TO THINK THINGS THROUGH?

Mmkay.
