Was Caleb Sturgis bad or did the offense just put him in bad positions?

He also had one 50-yard attempt that was so woefully off it ended up about 20 yards to the left of the uprights...and I think that kick was at home in good weather conditions.

He had a really rough stretch during the middle of the year. That concerns me because it seemed like he was shaken and that's not a good thing for a kicker to be.

it's all the qbs fault:lol:

It actually is. It's entirely the QB's fault that his field goal percentage is so low.

If Ryan Tannehill wasn't so good at creating touchdowns in the red zone, he would have had a lot more 20-29 yard attempts.

:)

hell 36 yarders were a challenge enough

It wasn't about how many he missed, but more about WHEN he missed them. He missed some critical ones.

That's my MAIN concern with him. I'm not convinced he has the ice in his veins necessary to make critical kicks in crunchtime with any kind of consistency

He sucked and cost us at least 2 games this year. We would have been in the playoffs if he was a better kicker. Simple enough

Only 3 full time field goal kickers had a lower FG %
Face the facts...He can be easily replaced

He wasn't bad but we had him kicking way to many 50+ FG.....anything less than 3rd and 5 we should have went for it on forth down or punted and try to pin them down get a quick 3 and out and have the ball back right around the 50...his problem was hit his first couple so Philbin kept going to him
