was drafting Ronnie a good Choice?

think about this. Ronnie Brown wasnt a staring runningback. He did well when he played, but he wasnt a starter. I dont think he has the stamina, and he woulndt be able, to start the whole game. He will be worn out after the second quarter.
:dunce:

Now If Ricky comes back, then we will be paying Ricky alot, just to be a 3rd down back. Ricky has expiriance, and Ronnie doesnt.

just think, where are we weak at? QB? CB?

just think, if we would have traded down, we could have drafted, Antrel Rolle, and Aaron Rodgers.

We would then have a new Starting QB, and a staring CB. And Ricky Williams, & Kay Jay, Sammy Morris, and Lamar Gordon, and Travis Minor

Sounds better to me

Plain and simply; you don't trust RW for anything from here on out.... You don't revolve 70% of the offense around 1 player either.... Therefore, drafting RB was the best possible scenario for our backfield as a complete unit because he's a four tool player (block, catch, run, + {slot WR}) What else do you want from a HB?

I just give up. I GIVE UP!

My fingers are so tired of typing the argument that RONNIE BROWN WAS NOT A BACKUP FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST.

Some of you on here need to get some sense knocked into you.
was he the starter???? i think not....so there for hes a back-up.
and how could he be the BPA??? He didnt even start!!!!!! how many games did you see Ronnie Brown carry the ball the whole game, without another HB touching the ball????none
and how do you know how good of shape Ricky is in? All you say that hes 30lbs lighter.....bullshivicks!!!! he was a month after he retired, he has gained some weight. its easier to gain weight than to lose it.
Ricky Williams is in the best shape of his life, right now. Why? because he has had a year off one of the most painful sports, and has had more time to heal properly, than ANY RUNNINGBACK in the NFL.

Dude, you are killing me. First off, Auburn really didn't have a so-called "Starter", just two RBs that SHARED the ball. Also, you say that Ronnie Brown never had a game where another HB didn't touch the ball. Please tell me, how many games do you think Ricky went without never having another RB touch the ball? Are you trying to tell me that Travis Minor and Rob Konrad never had a carry during the 2002 and 2003 season?

erm I dont think Cadilac W had the versatility to play fullback and considering he was a top 5 or so pick I would say he was to good to leave on the bench...Soooo Ronnie B got to play some FB and whatever else they asked him to do... I love it when people use 20/20 hindsight and question decisions how the F*** was Saban supposed to know for sure that RW was coming back??(im still not even sure) he (Saban) didnt so he made the SMART play and took Ronnie so please enough with the Bulls***.

i said Halfback, and Konrad wasnt a halfback. how many carries did Travis Minor have in those seasons? 59 in 02, and 44 in 03, when ricky had 383 and 392.....so Mnor barley got to run....Ricky ran it 90% of the time in 03, with those too backs.

what percentage did Ronnie Brown run compared to Carnell Williams?

this is getting hilarious. 3 days ago Ronnie Brown was a stud that people ranked higher than C. Dillon or McGahee..even though Ronnie has never taken an NFL snap.

Somebody whispers the name "Ricky Williams" and suddenly Ronnie is a backup that should immediately be traded for draft picks(another thread), never should have been drafted at #2 to start with, and will be worn out by the 2nd quarter.
Get a grip people.

i said he would be worn out after the 2nd quarter, not by the 2nd quarter.

why wouldnt he? hes never played a full game a hb by himself......not counting an ocasional 3rd down back.

He was the starter the ENTIRE season for Auburn in 2002.

huh?
Studying holistic medicine smoking dope, and not working out results in Ricky being in the best shape of his life? losing 40lbs of muscle is a good thing for an NFL running back?

Oh, OK. That makes all the difference.

yes you are right, and i agree with you that hes a good back, but do you believe that he was the best pick available in the draft at #2???

i really dont believe this. i dont think he was even the best HB in the draft, let alone the BPA

why do you think hes studing medicne? he obviously had some healing problems, and wanted some time off. now hes had his vacation, and hes as fresh as once was. its time for him to go to work.....o so now its 40 lbs of muscel? got any proof of that?

i'm gonna laugh at alll ya when Ricky does good next season. then you will all be saying what i have been saying.

and y should his personal life off the field have anything to do how we judge him? Ray Lewis was convicted of murder, and i dont hear about that every day from fans.

Ronnie Brown is a stud and should be a very good NFL runningback. However, with Ricky apparently coming back, we will have the best backfield in the NFL by far. And don't forget Lamar Gordon. He deserves some props. He played very well behind Marshall and is a Linehan guy as well. He is a good receiver out of the backfield and is very vesatile. If Ricky does come back, we are contenders right now! Call me a homer, but it's the truth.

Did you watch that 60 minutes interview? If not you really should. You might feel different about him after you see that.
