By Brian Miller: As the game started to get a little out of hand, Gruden fired up solutions to getting back into it. In fact at one point he declared that he would take a different approach to finishing off the Patriots but never went into full details. He was confident throughout that the Dolphins could stick with the opposition. Perhaps I was listening and putting a little too much into what he was saying, but there seemed to be a bit more to the tone of his comments than simply doing his job.I’m not saying that Gruden is in line for the Miami job if and when it came open or that Stephen Ross would consider it. I am also not saying that Sparano should be fired or even on the hot seat. It’s week 1 of the regular season. I am really more interested in what you think regarding his commentary last night. It simply seemed to me that Jon Gruden had an awful lot to say about our team than he has about others in the past.http://phinphanatic.com/2011/09/13/was-jon-gruden-fishing-for-the-dolphins-hc-job/

Sparano is absolutely in the hot seat after that debacle, and Ross being the star bleeper that he is, will probably reach out to guys like Gruden and Cowher.

I noticed this as well and was thinking the same thing. The more I think about it, I wonder if Gruden would really want the job. I think he might be fine with where he is now.

how was it a debacle? lol

brady threw for 500+ on us...henne threw for 400+ on them

they went 14-2 last year

it could have been SO much worse...last years primetime loss with the special teams meltdown would qualify as a debacle more than this

Hell yeah! He's saying all the right thing about Miami. I think he is truly a Miami Dolphins fan. I like him calling our games but coaching. Welll he can't be worse than Tony Sparano.

Towards the beginning of the broadcast he said something along the lines of, "I want to see this stadium full of Miami fans" like back in the good old days. i dont recall the exact phrasing but it sounded odd coming from an impartial announcer.

Lol he was going on and on about bringing back the Miami fanbase and stuff. I had this in the back of my mind also.

I thought it was funny that he said the S word on national tv lol. That being said how is his fist pump? I noticed Sparano has a new move, clenching his fist and hitting himself repeatedly in the chest as if to kickstart his heart. Kind of reminded me of the Saturday Night Live skit where Chris Farley gets a bear claw lodged after swallowing it and beats his chest trying to perform the self heimlich maneuver....da Bears

I felt the same way. For a majority of the game he was totally pro dolphin.

That was Jaworski.

Reminded me of a dumb gorilla. The comparison suits Tony well I think.

If they replace Sparano with Gruden than Ross really doesn't know what he is doing. I think Ross is smarter than that.
