Was Jordan

Didn't the OT picked after him struggle? Lane Johnson? I forget the name

It's not too early to tell. He's a giant bust. A huge miss. He should have Oliver Vernon numbers, but instead Oliver Vernon has em. He's been nonexistent on the field. I see him running around, but not making any plays. He can't seem to shed a block. He looks big out there, but hasn't put any pressure on the QB.

If you move up to get a guy, at number three. He shouldn't be a project. He should be stating and making an impact. Any other draft pick there would have been better.

Well he's a beacon of durability compared to Jamar Taylor. Talk about made of glass!!

It doubly hurts because Jamar Taylor was the pick we didn't want to trade away to get Brandon Albert. Taylor never saw the field and our o-line sucked balls all year. Awesome.

When we traded up, I was thrilled that we did not pick an OT and was very happy that we picked Jordan. However, I have no clue what we are planning for him. I see a 3-4 OLB... I just don't see him as a DE, regardless of putting on more weight. So right now, this pick is a miss, and I really fear that we don't have a good plan for him.

I think Dion Jordan as a player is a hit. Not a Sure-Thing hit, but he's been in on a lot of the few plays he gets to be in. If I had to bet that he will be a future major contributor, or be an injury-bust, I'd bet contributor.

The pick itself, taking him at #3, I think was a huge miss. I wouldn't draft a project in round 1, especially in a Playoffs-or-Die year. Dumb on Ireland's part -- I think he started getting excited with the positive buzz from his offseason spending spree, and shot his load too early.
Not to mention, OL was such a needed thing in rounds 1-2. He was probably too scared to pick OL for fear of fan-apathy at an ugly but safe pick.

Jordan is playing out of position. In the pros he is an outside linebacker. He is useless at defensive end.

I bet the people complaining about making a luxury pick are the same people that complained after every draft over the last 10 years that the dolphins reached for the NEED position.

In my mind, fill your needs with decent FAs. Draft your WANTS based on BPA. That's how you avoid those massive need areas in the future. By picking up studs before they become a need.

Was dion Jordan the best player available? Who knows. But I can't complain now that the FO has finally stopped reaching for need areas as bad as they used to.

Don't forget that to add insult to injury we ended up losing a pick in the upcoming draft (not a #2 but still a pick) because we had to trade for one anyway to get McKinnie (whom we could've just signed as a FA but we'd rather pay him AND lose a pick).

Jordan didn't see the field as much as we would have liked because our offense was inept. And our offense was inept, in part, because we used our top 2 picks on Jordan.

I think it's undecided right now. When he was on the field he made things happen. He had weaknesses that kept him off the field. There are plenty of guys who took a year to get cooking, Jason Paul-Pierre comes to mind.
