Was Philbin over McCoy the right move?

Too bad they didn't go after Schiano....he's doing wonders in Tampa...

IIRC, our own CK was floating the name Pagano even before the season ended that year. I believe he floated Pagano and thus I started taking a closer look at him, even while the '11 season was still going.

Remember Miami had brought up Bowles to run the operation so we were obviously looking early and we spent a good chunk of the second half of that year debating coaching candidates.

forget McCoy, how'd they not vet Pagano & Co. as better option?

#1 and Andrew Luck or #8 and Whoever falls to 8. You know if both teams had equal interest which team would have looked better right? Forget the 6-10 vs 2-14 record. Both sucked. One team had a better pick than others. That's called an incentive.

McCoy looks good now since he started with Rivers and talent on defense. Pagano is overrated as well. Ariens did all the heavy lifting last year, so now Pagano gets a 2nd year Luck.

6 games into the season. Why are we talking about what happens after this year already? Jeez, people...

My problem with Philbin is he doesn't appear to have any sense of urgency, he instilling a system as if he has 10 years to get the ship righted but really he only had 2, maybe 3 years at most. Trading players like Brandon Marshall and Vontae Davis might have been best for the long term health of the team but those moves were extremely risky especially under the circumstances.
