Was the Brandon Marshall trade worth it?

No

I'd rather have the picks back...

But with this crappy regime, its a wash...

youd rather have those picks back and trust this regime to pick good 2nd round talents? Come on son. Imagine this offense without brandon marshall and get back to me.

what team u think would trade 2 second rounders for marshal right now?
i think no one except the desperate dolphins
The point is we have him and they dont...so wait if the dolphins didnt want him he'd be sitting on the couch right now?

I can get behind some of that dude. My whole train of thought though is, compare it as apples to apples in a sense where I only look at what WR's we could have taken. I don't know how to compare brandon marshall to a DT, or OLB ya know???

Hindsight is golden but if I took the time I could list several players that were on my board that year. keep it simple and we could of had RT Vladimir Ducasse and QB Ryan Mallett. RT Vladimir Ducasse and TE Lance Kendricks.

I think RT/RG is a huge need that we tried to fill with J Jerry and failed. There were a number of players that could be starting for us if we had had the picks. Plus, we were put in a bind while drafting since we did not have that 2nd round pick. We had fewer or no options to move up etc. We could have taken D Thomas this year and another in the 3rd round and 5th.

my other tendency would be to look at our past draft history... how many good Te's have we let go by the wayside in the draft? so that being said, I don't think we would have even been targeting hernandez, hankerson, gronk, or graham... we just don't seem to like drafting TE's, gresham, bennett, etc etc... were these guys even on our board. why we don't feel the need for an upgrade at the position is beyond me.

Chances are good that this FO would have messed it up, lol, and you are right, they did not look at all at pass catching TEs.

I keep remembering marshalls 21 catch game or whatever it was when he was with denver... why can't we utilize any of our talent they are best used? so frustrating.

The Broncos lost that game. It is not about the catches or the yards, it is the touchdowns scored.

Yes. He dominates corners and is always doing great imo, just lacking the tds. With some experience our WR corps could be crazy!

if we were a better team the trade makes some sense but now we will go into year 3 of his contract and u can bet this year if we continue to lose his me me me attitude will come to the surface. By the time we will probably be able to benefit from it he will probably be cut lol i would have rather traded less to get Anquan Boldin

He is not the beast I was expecting......I was looking for the guy who would get his catches in big situations and games regardless of who is covering him or throwing to him......he seems to do well in games that dont mean anything to the team......if I could I would take the trade back....he is a solid receiver but not worth 2 number two......he doesnt make his QB better and his 15 yd penalties and drop passes it starting to make me not like him to much.......he's a good player but nothing special in my eyes.....I have yet to see him make a catch that is difficult in the endzone.....

Hindsight being 20/20, I wish Miami wouldn't have made the trade. Clearly, this team wasn't as nearly as close as some thought that would justify such a costly move.

Denarius Moore went to Oakland in the 5th this year. I would give Marshall and two 2nd rounds for him. So my answer would be no but the Dolphins need to learn how to draft.

Moore has had one good game. You say you wouldnt trade two 2's for Marshall but you would trade two 2's and Marshall for Moore? Good thinking...

Moore has had two good games and I watched them both. He has speed and can separate, he has better hands than Marshall, he is acrobatic in ways Marshall can't even consider. And Moore is young and hungry and apt to be more willing to listen, learn and work with and not against his QB. Yeah I would trade Marshall and two seconds for him. Look back on our seconds, most in recent history are no longer in the league...big loss?

2 first rounders for marshmellow no way!!
MARSHMELO-1.gif
Obviously I meant 2 2nd rounders my bad

At the time we basically got a top 5 wr for a 2nd round pick, because we traded back that year and got a second rd pick and still got Odrick. When we first got him I was like hell yeah now we finally have someone to let ginn be #2 and then bess in the slot with camarillo being the jack of all trades wr. I thought that was soooolid. I was so happy. Then we trade ginn instantly, and never get any speed to recoup that major hit on our offense and the proceed to watch the whole season as commentators say "Oh boy they sure need some speed, no one respects the fins over the top and now they can't do anything on offense." So pissed.

If the Dolphins had a competent OC/QB it would be worth it.

I know this. you are nitpicking my posts..

that was against a peyton manning led colts team I believe, was it not?

point being... do you not think brandon marshall having more touches would lead to us having more points? I do.
