Wasted pick Clarett cut

Yes, Clarett was the proverbial "reach" that didn't pan out, but no tears to shed for Shanahan. When it comes to the running game, he has no equal. I don't think we'll be laughing at them on 9/11 because they cut:rolleyes: Clarett.

Yeah, I'm not understanding the drop at all.
He couldn't stay healthy in camp, therefore could not get on the field to show what he could do. they are already deep at Rb, so there's your sign, the Door!

Yeah me too. From what Shannahan has said about him and then for them to release him, he must be VERY lazy. Because I do believe he does have the ability.

Yep, he's a dipstick  for signing a silly contract like that :rofl3:
He's got to be either really arrogant or really stupid. He turns down a signing bonus because he thinks he should earn it, and he thinks that he's 1st round material and should have a 1st round-type contract. I just can't imagine that he still thinks he is worth anything to a team after time after time he's shown that he isn't.

Correction -- he hasn't shown it. He only played one year in college and quit the combine after running badly.

Shanahan had nothing but high praises for the guy, and now this? Its odd. But, heh, I'm sure he'll get picked up somewhere and get another chance eventually.

well at least we got a decent Running back for a third round pick last year... NO Wait... damnit.

What's not to understand? Ron Dayne has been tearing it up, Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell are fighting for the top spot, and Griffin is still there. There's just no room for immature, injury prone runningbacks on that team.

Give him a serious look, IMO.

Why?
If he can't even make the team in the most running back friendly system in the league, why should we give him a look?
Plus, at the combine Clarette's 40 yd dash attempts were timed with a sun dial.
And then of course there are the character issues.

Why on earth would we want anything to do with him?

Nope...it happens. In fact we released our 3rd round pick at the end of training camp a few years ago. Might have been JJ's first year as Phins coach. We drafted a cornerback that was supposed to be great....last name was "brew", I think. Anyway, he sucked so we dumped him. I think he bounced around the league for a couple of years but never amounted to anything.
