Watch The Phins Keep 8 In To Block And Still Give Up The Sack. Smh

Good point about gesicki standing straight up. What kind of technique is that anyways?

Smh. Contrast that with what smythe is doing. Yeah he’s blocking a de and handling him. His knees are bent he’s got his weight under him etc.

Gesicki has a critical pick up the play side edge should they rush ask there and he’s just way too upright even flowing across the formation.

Bt there’s another play where we move the qb and gesicki is the primary mid level route and he’s a full half second or more late off the ball and you guessed it falls down on the cross portion of the route concept. Falls down untouched I might add.

This team is just poorly constructed from a philosophy standpoint.

We have a QB that can't improvise, but also can't protect him.

A defense that is built to play with the lead, but we never get one.

Linebackers that can't shed blocks....with DT's that don't command a double team.

We play two strong safeties.

Every year we have a collection of players, but no plan to use them.

That doesn't sound very good!!

Absolutely a terribly designed play

That would be my summary. I have no idea what Tannehill is supposed to do, given his skill set and those two routes. Both are incredibly slow developing and don't seem to feed off of each other at all.

Seemingly that play can only work if Tannehill has two more seconds, or the Vikings safety decided to take a seat on the turf

This isn't the one to beat Tannehill with as it's a clusterf#ck all round. Hands down if the last few years have taught us anything our next QB needs, at a minimum, above average pocket presence and we must give him decent protection (OL, RBs or TEs) or else the back up will be seeing significant playing time.

Poor design, especially with the long, slow developing routes.
No outlet(hot) receiver near the LOS
What are the coaches (Gase) thinking, sending WRs 30 yards downfield, even with max protection, and we KNOW Drake suffers in pass pro.
No separation by WRs either.
Doomed from the get-go, it seems.

Plus their safety was back there waiting for it, it didn't matter what Stills did.

Man i can't wait for a quality O coach...wtf a quality D coach as well

Hard to imagine Gase watching the tape on plays like this and still feeling like he deserves to be the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

He doesn’t even deserve to be the OC.

If Tannehill could lead a receiver with accuracy, and think just a bit faster, that man has a step on the defender and nothing but green to the end zone. It's a game of inches and to a guy with a different playing style (skill) that's an easy play. I say that being a spoiled Miami Dolphin fan from back when we had Dan Marino, which maybe raised the bar to an unrealistic level. But we have seen that play go for big yards when the quarterback can hit that with a quick release.

The only issue with that play call is it takes too long to develop for the blocking scheme ask. Really just the back assignment on the back side. They tried to move tanny away from it to give more time but still.

Which is why Adam Gase owns half of the result.

High low concept

Don't like the play design. Tannehill looks typical as the footsteps get closer, and has nowhere to go with it.

Hard to believe that the game could actually get uglier when you break it up and slow it down.
