1. Remind me again why trading Brandon Marshall was a good move for us? I lost count of how many TDs he had.

2. Jonathan Martin - looked EXACTLY the same as when he was here. Got abused for two sacks by the same d-man late in 4th quarter so he was pretty much on schedule in terms of when his melt downs occur.

Let it rest my man, let it rest. although I had a good laugh watching Jonathan Martin getting completely manhandled. Thank God we got some for his sorry ass.

He had just punched another chick in the face right around that time I believe...

Ha - me too. Did you notice Collinsworth kept calling him a "backup"? I found that interesting.

Yeah but Roger Goodell says he never saw the video of it

Trading Marshall never should've happened. Certainly not for two 3rd rd picks. Ted Ginn? When are we going to stop talking about him? He returned a few kicks for Miami and caught a few too but he's on his 3rd/4th team in his career b/c he's nothing special.

In case you haven't been following the Ray Rice issue, the issue with Brandon Marshall was also domestic violence. Until moving to Chicago he had a long history of beating up his partners, going back to his college days at Central Florida (it's the reason he fell to the 4th round). In fact I read where the Police came to his home 33 times over matters of domestic violence (including him getting stabbed with a glass vase) over the years, but he always got off. In the end, Ireland had had enough of him. Denver gave up on him before he came here.
Brandon Marshall has a mental health issue - Borderline Personality Disorder - BPD and the good news is that since moving to Chicago that he has had success in handling it. He still has it but he gets the treatment he needs to better cope with life.

The National Institute of Health defines BPD as:
A serious mental illness characterized by pervasive instability in moods, interpersonal relationships, self-image, and behavior. This instability often disrupts family and work life, long-term planning, and the individual's sense of self-identity. Originally thought to be at the "borderline" of psychosis, people with BPD suffer from a disorder of emotion regulation. While less well known than schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness), BPD is more common, affecting 2 percent of adults, mostly young women.

Martin would get a less mobile QB killed. If Harbaugh demotes the backup, look for Jona to again start getting high, petulant, missing meetings and pointing guns at his own head. At least it's a 45 minute flight away for mommy to rush up, hold his hand and administer mental triage.

I actually thought Martin was fine until the 4th quarter, and then it was just a total collapse.

But to be fair to Martin, that entire 49ers team seemed to implode late.

Overall, I actually thought Jon Martin played fine for 7 of the 8 quarters he has been in. I attribute a lot of that to some newfound mental stability and clean living. Having said that, he's physically still overmatched at times and when the intensity ramps up he wilts. He's a career backup at best - you definitely don't want him anchoring your right side (or left for that matter). The difference between him and Ja'wuan James is stark.

The question about Marshall has always been if/when will he implode - because his on-field production is spectacular. He is one of those guys who can singlehandedly win games.

Great QB will make a bad receiver mediocre a mediocre one good and a good one great. I don't think Marshall would be thriving here.

Well, Marshall caught over 80 passes and 1000 yds the two years he was here, with Henne and Moore throwing to him. Maybe he wasn't thriving but he was still doing pretty darn good.
