Way Too Early 2025 Super Bowl Odds

Vegas doesn't care who wins just as long as equal bets on both sides. They win either way
Yes, I understand how Vegas works. You're talking about a single game bet versus a futures bet, and that's not always true for a single game bet either. There are definitely times where Vegas 'takes a side' with a line that comes out that induces lopsided action. However, what you're saying with regards to the 2025 Super Bowl futures makes no sense.

These guys and the "Vegas only wants to get the money equal on both sides" and the "vegas doesn't set odds on how they think the even will turn out" drive me crazy. First of all, its nearly impossible to get the money 50% even on both sides. Vegas always has a rooting interest in every game. I wish everyone understood this.

I wish the people who make this comment could spend one day in the back room of a sportsbook office, as the games are in progress. It is non-stop whining and begging from the sports book manager, often with a casino executive or even the owner alongside.

There is seldom equal action, especially when you consider stuff like parlays and parlay cards. The house needs a side and often it is a major decision. That's when the whining and begging can translate to objects hurled across the room and dents in the cabinet.

As I've often emphasized, the reason Las Vegas doesn't allow behind the scenes documentaries on the sportsbook industry is that all the myths would be shattered in one episode, if they filmed it legitimately and not a pampered version designed to cater to conventional wisdom. The public would expect to see ultra sophisticated odds making sessions. Instead it's 30 seconds per game because everyone in the room is looking at the same sets of power ratings. They would expect to see backroom calm amidst win wither way, instead of those juvenile tantrums.

I realize I can't put a dent in the conventional wisdom. Bunk rules. We've still got goofs here and elsewhere who think they are being smart by asserting a point spread is not a prediction of the outcome. Meanwhile I asked that question point blank to the chief Nevada oddsmaker 35 years ago on Las Vegas radio. I appreciated that Roxy was not in the same mold as all the pompous types who have held that position, and others like it. Roxy openly conceded that the house has big decisions and that he openly rooted that way. He would become quite sarcastic on the air while rejoicing a major house win after the money took the number the wrong way. After I posed that question about a point spread as prediction of the outcome, Roxy quickly snapped, "Of course it is."

No clue what you are trying to say
Really? Couldn't string it together? OK.....

We should not be one to call the Jags division a cupcake when we couldn't even beat their easiest cupcake ( the titans - which cost us the east over the Bills ). Plus we have some cakes of our own in the AFCE. I'd hardly call the Jags, Colts and Texans cupcakes but maybe you think they'd be easy layups for most teams. Hell, people think all kinds of things around here like us being in some kind of window for contention to do something or other.....like what, win a trophy? Just stop. But I digress. Better?

I don't think we're as far away as it seems at the moment.
We won 11 games and were decimated by injuries at the end of the year.
You know positivity is not to be had on this site. We've all got to be chicken littles running around yelling and acting like toddlers. There's some hidden clause in the terms of service that says we must be miserable 365 days each year, regardless of reality.

OMG they have Buffalo at the top again 🤣

Maybe next year is the year
Vegas loves to just build em up, only to watch the heartbreak. Keep them delusional and depressed come January!
