In theory, we're still alive. We have to win our home games and our division games. The only loss we can afford the rest of the way is Pittsburgh. So - IN THEORY - this team is very much alive. Do I think we can do that? Abso-****ing-lutely NO!
Because - IN REALITY -, we were outgained in 7 of our 9 games. Think about that: 2 games we gained more yards than our opponents. And the thing is: we lost both of those games (against Buffalo and in New England). In all other 7 games, we allowed more yards than we gained. How we won 4 of those games is absolutely beyond me. To sum it up: reality is we are not a good football team, neither on offense, nor on defense, nor on Special teams. That falls on the GM and the coaches.
At this point I just wish we will lose against San Diego so that the season is over because there's nothing worse than getting your hopes up for this team and the next game they come out and crush your hopes again. I don't even want them to lose to get a higher draft pick. I want them to lose so that my blood pressure goes back to what it is between February and September.
That Tampa Bay game was a perfect eptiome of the Miami Dolphins this century: they start out slow so that your backs are against the wall. And just when everyone thinks it's over they work themselves out of that hole so that everyone thinks "hmm...maybe there IS hope after all" and just when you think that the Miami Dolphins will make sure that they screw it one more time. Seen this story too many times and yet every time I get caught thinking that this time it may turn out differently.
Ireland and Philbin and his staff need to go because they are clearly not the ones that lead us to the promised land.

I haven't posted much in the past because I seldom ever watched the games since they weren't televised in my area. I decided to purchase the NFL Sunday ticket this season and have watched every Dolphin game. The team is worse than I expected and the post I read in the past are true. There is a severe lack of tougness on this team. The running game separates the men from the boys in the cold weather climates and we have NO running game! When the snow flies an already bad passing game will get even worse. Playoffs aren't in this teams future in my opinion. I like to be optimistic but when watching this team it's better to be a realist....the losses don't sting as much.

It helps you work week when you don't get affected by Dolphins losses anymore.

Play-offs !!!!! Your talking about play-offs !!! Really ? Too many distractions, a really bad O-line, no running game, a D-line that can not stop the run, no real pass rush, LB's who suck and can not make a tackle or cover anyone, a QB who can't hit on the long pass, a punt returner who doesn't know enough to let the ball go when he is standing inside the 10 yard line, etc...... They will be lucky to win 6 games this year....
