Q. Was this a tough week to coach this football team
?

TS: No, it wasn’t tough. The guys handled it well. The good news is that it was a short week, not a long week. There wasn’t time to dwell. We have a bunch of pros in this locker room and they knew how to react. But like everything else in life you have to understand where the problems were and you have to know how to correct them. That’s what we did.

Tony, you understood we were attacked by TE's last year, yet this year you have not corrected it. And you have corrected all the issues from last week? Wow!
Awesome, so no more TE's spanking us again, thanx Tony, you're grrrrrrreat!

identify problem: allowing 517 passing yards. correction of problem: "don't let that EVER happen again!" problem solved.

"Hey Tony, you got smacked hard last game. What do you say about that?"
"I say, hey, you know, Fuhget-a-bout it!" "Move on, Bada-you know-bing!"

Pretty much sums it up. BTW I am sure Bill on the pats is saying the exact same thing about their secondary. They just happen to have the best QB in the world and an offensive line that gives him all day to throw the ball.

The strongest part of our D let us down, I won't even blame the secondary that much. Our D line didn't do a very good job at all getting to Brady, I don't care who is back there give a quarterback 5 to 9 seconds a pass he will find someone open.

corrected the problem? tony, it wasnt mental mistakes, your cbs just sucked that day, cramped up all over the field, out of shape suckin wind all game, theres no correcting that tony. Will allen was a great start but your going to need alot more than that to get this defense rolling.

Well..HELL...we give up 400 yds passing this week and it will look a improvement.

You fix the problem then. Since you are the "don't let tight ends do anything on us" guru, fix it!

its not going to be pretty if the texans put up as much points as the patriots did, i would not be surprised if ross just gets so frustrated heads start rolling.

Q. He doesn’t get much press, but how good a punter is Brandon Fields, and what does he do best?

TS: He’s a very good punter. What he does best is come out of tight spots. More often than not, he delivers the big kick that changes field position. He also delivers on the hidden-yardage category. The fan may not see that, but as coaches we realize how much hidden yardage is taken care of the way he punts the ball. That’s impressive.

I guess the guy punts good is what he's saying. Hey Tony, is the breakfast good at the practice facility?
"The breakfast is very good."
Tony and his silver tongue with interviews..Gotta love it.

Funny, coulda of swore many on this site thought dumping Crowder and signing Burnett was gonna help that.

Amazing how many who approved of a move now critiscize it.

No matter what Sparano says or does some of you are always gonna critiscize it, it gets ridiculous sometimes.

I bet not one person in this thread so far wrote a post or thread expecting teh Pats TE'S to do what they did. I seriously wonder if some of you were supporting the Burnett signing for this reason.

See my last post to see how this proves my point lol

I'm pretty sure NO ONE expected the TE's to do what they did. Since we were lit up last year from it, we all (I can only speak for myself) just thought it was common sense that Nolan would fix the issue..Ya know?
You're also speaking of a personnel issue with covering. I'm coming from the idea that Nolan needed to scheme for their TE attack.
And the last post of jerking around Tony for his interviews, yeah, I'm just havaing a little fun. Iknow I'm not the only one who enjoys his you know, answers in interviews. It's Friday, we should all realx.

The problems were:

* the defensive plan
* young players with not enough preparation
* Nolan sending play calls too slowly
* not being ready for the pace of the no huddle
* Wake having a very bad day with setting the edge. This was huge.
* Reshad Jones mental mistakes
* Conditioning but it was the least important issue

I am not even worried about covering tight ends. That will come with better management of time and being ready for the snap.
