We heard players all week saying we need a starter named so we can get chemistry, timing, and everything down. Gus wins the job so far, and is just getting into his role. It basically sounded like from everyone that Gus the starter this year. To go and let Feeley start next game, the first game that we game plan for, would not only screw up the offense, it would screw up both QB's, ala last year. We did the same thing to Feidler last year. He's named starter, has one bad half, Feeley gets the job. Let Gus lose the job, but not in a game like last night. Look at Doug Flutie, Jay Fiedler. They come in as backups against second teams, connect on several passes, then find their way deep into the endzone. Feeley didn't even get within the 20. Let's see what happens next week. We can't keep going back and forth.

I agree that we cant keep going back and forth. Feeley has played better let him start the season. Saban should announce today that Feeley is the starter for week 1

Frerotte should start next week. I don't care what Feeley did- he played against the butchers and bakers and candlestick makers and his longest completion was 12 lousy yards. Got us nowhere near the endzone. Big deal.

your right, but then ferotte didnt do much better, but still feely has not thrown a TD or even led us to a TD this preseaon i dont think, i think we stick with gus this week and if feely out perfromes him then we have issues to sort out but if gus out performes feely then i think its a no-brainer and gus starts the season

Frerotte should have never been put in the position to be the default Qb, and that mistake is Saban's first. It was different last year because Fiedler was coming off a winning season, but Frerotte is a newbie who hasn't shown anything, yet we hand him the starting job? That is ridiculous, because he hasn't shown the ability to lead this team at all in his two starts. You don't start a mediocre veteran for the heck of it.

Frerotte knows the offense, he is more of a leader, and the players support him. How is Saban giving him the job?

I conpletely disagree. The players dont coach this team. It is up to the coach to make the correct decision, and if that means not naming a starter until after the last pre season game then so be it. We should not rush this decision because selfish McMichael wants a QB named.

Yeah, lets ask Boston who he wants as a QB. After last night I guarantee you its AJ

And I think the correct decision is to let Gus start. He know this offense. Feeley is doing well with his second team, against their second team. We are not going to the Super Bowl this year, and I don't even expect to make the playoffs... We are in a rebuilding year. Does anyone expect any of us to be talking about Gus or AJ next year? I doubt it... But we will be talking about the rest of the team that Saban is putting together. Give this some time everyone. This is year one of our new direction. Give it some time.

Let's go Dolphins! Win or lose!

enough with the start AJ crap.............CUT THIS BUM !..............he stinks

I don't give a (any combination of ***s) about whether Gus is a leader! If he is such a great leader, then guys would be making catches for him. When things are going wrong a leader finds a way to get the guys to regroup. The ones being lead were making countless mistakes, and you want to tell me he is leading them? And if he knows the offense and is still doing this horrible, then he must really really stink. AJ is outplaying him and yet he doesn't know the offense, so how much better will be play when he does?

And Saban is giving him the job by making him his number one prematurely. An incumbent starter in AJ's situation should have to be beaten for the job. You don't bring in a mediocre veteran and say here, you have to clearly, beyond a shadow of a doubt, outplay this guy. That's just not the way NFL teams should operate.

I for one don't care if the players want a choice of quarterbacks made for the sake of "chemistry". Someone needs to tell McMicheal that it will help offensive chemistry if he could hold onto the ball. If each one of these players would worry about their own position and not when the starting quarterback is named it might do wonders for their performance.

Having Feeley out there in week 2 and 3 actually gave McMichael a lot of catches because with the confusion on the field, he was the only one Feeley could hit in a Dolphins jersey.
