The most compelling argument for naming a starter comes from the low completion rate last night. It is clear to me that Gus is not on the same page with the receivers and that he could use time in the preseason to fix that.

Frerotte should have never been put in the position to be the default Qb, and that mistake is Saban's first. It was different last year because Fiedler was coming off a winning season, but Frerotte is a newbie who hasn't shown anything, yet we hand him the starting job? That is ridiculous, because he hasn't shown the ability to lead this team at all in his two starts. You don't start a mediocre veteran for the heck of it.

How was he handed the job???? They had all of minicamps, training camp, and 2 preseason games to decide that gus should start, it's not like he was named the starter the day he signed

Does it really matter who the Qb is, or who the RB is, if the line doesn't start blocking better this offense is going no where.:shakeno: That needs to be fixed first or it's going to get ugly..

your right, but then ferotte didnt do much better, but still feely has not thrown a TD or even led us to a TD this preseaon i dont think, i think we stick with gus this week and if feely out perfromes him then we have issues to sort out but if gus out performes feely then i think its a no-brainer and gus starts the season

Frerotte's only TD came on a pass that was intended for another receiver and slipped out of his hand. In 2 weeks, playing with the 1st team offense, Frerotte is 13 for 31, and has led the team to 3 points. If Saban is serious about finding the best player, then Feeley should get an extended chance to play with the first team offense next week. Frerotte is a lousy QB. He's been lousy for the last 11 years. In the last 2 weeks, he's continued to prove that he's lousy.
