I remember one time while I was working with the fansite Neocron/Online we had a bunch of TribalWar users decide to invade us because one of our layouts looked remotely familiar (maybe a button or two in reality.....was a huge stretch on their part). However they have a huge 12,000 registered users and our admin wasn't around. Was comical because we had never expirienced 500 people signing up to post fetish porn and we didn't have banning options at the time. We had to implement techniques like slowing down posting times to 6 minutes, turning off the search engine (VB has a huge weakness to constant searches due to the load on the processor), etc until someone who could ban got there.

Needless to say every mod has that option to ban now there lol

speaking of which - I need that bad - I promise never to ban anyone, but Bills fans who deserve it.
 
This is the forum I lead mod for now. Neocron. In 2 and a half years there I have only had to ban out 20 users. Not bad for 9000 solid users for a PvP style online game where whining and bitching is the norm :)
 
Van, up until today, I think we had banned maybe 10 people tops. And actually we only banned one person today, it was just three or four different user names they had signed up for. I think it is just the way things go...if someone doesn't care about another sites boards...they feel free to do whatever they want.
 
I would like to thank the moderators for the job they did today that is one of the reasons I came to this board to get away from all that garbage. :) :) :)

You guys should just make it so each new user has to have a unique email addy. Eventually they'll tire of signing up from hotmail accounts...it takes time to do that.
 
I don't go to BBI anymore. They used to change my info because they are such babies. At BFZ, other users can change your message under your icon, but thats just how it works. Anyway, BFZ is a lot better and it has better football talk in general.
