We have a long way to go...

Yeah, Miami has a long way to go until they can compete with, let alone beat a team like the Packers..............oh wait, they beat them last year.

Please, they were decimated with injures when we played them. It's called an upset. Tell me, what happened the rest of the year with those two teams. Oh wait, one won the supebowl, while the other went 7-9, and lost their last 3 games.

I was all about some Aaron Rodgers when he was coming out. Floored me that some people actually thought Alex Smith was a better prospect coming from a bogus system. And THEN after the 49ers drafted him, reports everywhere was that his hands weren't big enough for the NFL. I mean I know projecting college kids—especially a QB—at the next level is very difficult but Goddamn. I've hit more college QB prospects for what they are than some of these GM's.

In truth, I'd have taken either of them and expected us to draft sloppy seconds instead of a part time SEC running back and renting a journeyman QB best known for banging his head into walls. I started really pulling for Aaron when the drama queen diva was quoted as saying (paraphrased) that he's not there to mentor anyone and then watching Rodgers zip his lips every year when Bretta went through the mating game courtship ritual finally ending with AR being the object of misplaced lovesick Interception King fan hatred when Ted Thompson finally did the right thing. It's been wonderful watching him develop into one of the 3 elite QBs in the league with jewelry to confirm it as a "**** you" to Bretta and all the naysayers along the way, including Saban and Gruden who drafted nos 2 and 5, passing on this consensus top 10 pick..while opting for Frerotte and keeping Brian ****ing Griese.

FWIW, the same "decimated" roster except for Clay Matthews return ripped right through the playoffs and won the SB...so that really doesn't fly.

But we had Dan Henning...

I thought the Saints didnt look all that good tbh... if it wasnt for that punt return for a TD by Sprole, that 1st half would have been horrible for them...

Ya, look at Brees first 3 years. Looks familiar.

9k=

Please, please don't tell me you think Henne will even come close to Drew Brees. Fat chance. Brees has all the skills, the footwork, the accuracy. Henne does not and will never have that.

Henne has been consistently a 60 plus completion percentage guy since playing in college. He also had a fantastic TD to int ratio in college. Let's say you put down your crystal ball and give the kid a chance in a real offense before we start deciding what his numbers will be 5 years from now. Just a suggestion, or bash....either way.

It was the defense that won that game against the Pack last year plus Rodgers was shaking off being concussed. That game stood out as a clear indication just how close to the vest Sparano was going to play.

Actually if you look at Henne's footwork you will notice a difference from last year to this year. Daboll has done a good job with him.

He is their best defensive player, i'd say getting him back alone makes a huge difference. Doesn't matter, just because you upset a team, doesn't mean your as good as them. Some people here remind me of Jet fans years ago, as long as they beat us, that was their superbowl. Has that was it has come to?

He didn't get his nickname Checkdown Chad for nothing. We're talking about comparing him to a guy with a 5000 yard passing season (the only other than #13) and a Super Bowl ring. Sorry but that's just over the top homerism imo.

We'll see on Monday then. If true, good news.

This is the key words here, there are some that have already made up their mind. Who knows they may be right, or wrong. I know I have seen a major difference in Chad Henne.

Matthews makes a big difference.. although you couldn't tell it by the score last night....but no more than a healthy Finley last night and he wasn't around for their run. Playing at Lambeau also makes a big difference so it's basically a wash. You can paint it any way you want but we went into Lambeau and made basically the same roster that won the SB, and all on the road, one of our 6 road warrior beyotches!

I have been as critical as anyone about Henne but was somewhat impressed by his footwork and pocket awareness in the pre season. The Jets are the defense I really want to see him against. In this offense I really want to see how he handles a blitz.
