We just lost to a Coach/QB combo that got there three years!

i just dont know how anyone can compare tannehill to newton. newton is the scariest qb in the nfl cause hes an absolute monster running the ball and making plays with his feet. the mind boggling thing about him is he can get so much better. tannehill is not and NEVER will be in the class of cam newton, not even in his dreams.

Newton has been bad most of his career..

He finally got a little consistent, but still isn't a elite QB. He's good, but misses alot on the field every week.

So was Vince Young, where is he now? What about Vick?

come on bunglez you honestly think newton is comparable to young? theres this IT factor with qb's and newton has IT! he didnt play good today but when he had to he was money. on an off day with a short week, on the road and he still came through when it counted. what did tannehill do today?

I thought the same about Kaepernick coming into this year. So far he's averaging less yards per game than Alex Smith ever did.

A possession receiver would be nice. I will always wonder what Keller would've done for us this year.

tie a string from Sherman to his 'son-in-law/qb guru Zach Taylor to RT.

now cut the line just ahead of RT.

see... he's better already!

Ryan Tannehill was 2/4 for 110 yards and a touchdown on bombs 40+ yards in the air today.

Cam Newton was a big fat 0 for everything he threw at that distance, despite Ted Ginn being as wide open as Mike Wallace was on at least two of them that I saw.

So yeah, I'm gonna compare the two players. And in this case, Ryan Tannehill looks pretty good in that comparison.

wow youre really gonna compare newton to hennhill?? really? look up the word delusional, please.

Newton was 13-19 his first two seasons. Tannehill is 11-15 so far. Let's not pretend their teams performances were so different. Newton is a better QB but it didn't translate into a better record.

Apples and Oranges.

Let's not forget that when Rivera was named coach of the Panthers in 2011, they had just come off of a 2-14 season. The Panthers have shown consistent improvement since then. 6-10 (+4) in 2011, and 7-9 (+1) in 2012, 5 games better over his first two years. Philbin inherited a 6-10 team and took them to 7-9 (+1) in 2012. Rivera's first year improvement was much better than Philbin, and will already beat Philbin in terms of improvement over two years. We may not even finish better than last year. Rivera also plays in a much better NFC South, while we play in one of the weaker divisions.

Bottom line, Philbin inherited a better team and hasn't gotten them to improve that much. Rivera inherited a bad team, and likely has them in playoffs in his third year.

Much better NFC South with the 3-8 Bucs and 2-9 Falcons? Yeah injuries happen but you can't argue that division is overall average (NO/CAR vs. TB/ATL = average).

tannehill connects to a wide open wallace when we were up 16-13 and we're all singing a different tune, but he didnt and once again the whole game was put on the defense. it never changes man...

Exactamondo Dude. Tannehill (QB) unable to hit a Wide Open Wallace is what lost the Game. Period.

It's amazing how many stupid posters we have here. The Dolphins haven't had a franchise QB since Marino and fans act like it happens with the wave of a magic wand. Tannehill has his issues but he is no worse and and it can easily be argued (less surrounding talent) has done better than any QB's his age.

Ron Rivera and Cam Newton were guess what, not fired in their second year together despite a disappointing 7-9 season. Instead they were given that all so crucial third year and it's paying dividends. But here people are ready to throw Tannehill and Philbin off the roof. Why?

Agreed....but something has to change.

Ireland would be the least noticeable change next year but probable is the most likely to be canned.Probably a 80% chance of being gone.

Sherman's play calling has it's moments but lack of creativity would be the biggest change if replaced which at this point I'm ok with. There's just something that doesnt fit between Sherman and the team.Kinda like the square peg in the round hole IMO.Probably a 50% chance of getting canned as of right now but it could rise to 75% if we dont put up more points in the second half.

Philbin is the least likely IMO to be gone and would be noticed 2nd out of the 3 if he were to be fired.Probably a 20% of getting the axe.

Tanny and Philbin are here in 2014.Ireland and Sherman not so sure.
