We may be cutting moore to save for 2015

Well if you are in favor of having Devlin start a few games this year and think that we would be as competitive as if Moore was starting then all I have to say is we will have to agree to disagree. Personally I do agree that we could get rid of our 3rd QB, as long as Devlin is the one out the door. Devlin's ceiling is Cleo Lemon, which equals hot garbage. I have seen enough of Devlin to say I hope we cut all ties with him this year. He has had all the time we need to give him.

Agreed.

I have no clue why we ever decided to spend so much time on him. All those wasted reps and a roster spot for a guy with no real talent, it makes no sense. And especially for a number 3 qb.

To be fair, we know what we will get from Matt Moore. A guy that can't get us to the next level, but a decent backup. And his ceiling is reached. Tannehill is young, a lot less experienced at the QB position, and already has comparible stats as moore, all while getting sacked a team high 58 times.

i mean, really, i'd roll the dice on Devlin. I think he could do just as good as moore, at a cheaper price. don't think we need a 3rd qb. maybe draft a guy in the later rounds.

In terms of playing time he's not "inexperienced" compared to Moore. As I said before he's started more games than Matt and has 1,072 attempts compared to Matt's 764. Moore's never had an opportunity at the consistency Tanny has had. Every regime he's played for has been dead man walking, transitional material.

Moore does have more exposure to different offenses with the rotating carousel's of OC's he's worked with. But that's a Catch 22 because he's never had a chance to actually settle into one for a while. He was growing well into Daboll's, but that was quickly gone when Sparano was axed. Being around in the league for 6 years he's probably seen more defenses and tape than Ryan.

I still haven't heard one quality reason to get rid of him. Devlin is a waste of time. Considering the importance placed on this season it would be ghastly unwise to go into it without a quality emergency guy.

When i said qb experience, i meant overall. College included. And moore not having any consistant opportunities, i think says more about moore's ability, than anything else. If he was anything more than a decent backup, he would have started more games. I really can't say if Devlin would be better or worse than Moore, since he's never seen a regular season game. I would be willing to roll the dice on him though, along with a rookie. And moore being a mentor to tannehill was all fine and dandy, but i don't think there's much more he can teach tannehill in year 3.
