Chris Grier - G - Dolphins
Dolphins GM Chris Grier said the team will "definitely consider" selecting a quarterback in this year's draft.

Grier also praised signee QB Jake Rudock (who has thrown a total of five career passes), noting the 2016 sixth-rounder was a "big kid" who was "in a similar offense." Grier said no decision had been made on the future of Ryan Tannehill just yet, a lie as transparent as the notion the Dolphins are trying to win in 2019. Miami will undoubtedly take a chance on a signal-caller in April's draft, but he could simply be a project who plays behind a one-year veteran stop-gap until the team can lockdown a top-three pick this upcoming season. It's still plausible the Dolphins restructure Tannehill's contract in order to maneuver a trade rather than outright release him as they go for broke in what will clearly be a rebuilding year.

this was from rotoworld btw

I would guess if Murray is at 13 we would really have to consider that. His size scares me but if he sucks maybe we line up for Trevor in 2021 that would be the huge catch imo

if there's a kid we fall in love with, then yea we will draft a QB early.

However I think there is a 100% chance that we draft a QB at some point in the draft, even if it is the 5th or 6th round.

It will be a true competition. Falk, Fales, Rudock, a FA like Bridgewater/Tyrod/McCoy/Cassel?, and then a mid-round pick.

The 2 best of the vets stay and then the draft pick.

Fales is not under contract for 2019 as he's an unrestricted free agent. Only Tannehill, Rudock and Falk are under contract.

For the 1 millionth time, you need to draft a QB EVERY damn year, even if it's a 7th round selection. Eventually you'll find a steal.

That's assuming he gets to play...and a million other variables...would we ever have heard of Brady if Bledsoe doesn't get hurt?

Brady went from 4th in the depth chart as a rookie to 2nd string his 2nd year. I think he gets a shot eventually, I don't think Belichick was married to Bledsoe. Even if doesn't get a shot with the Pats I think we would have gotten it somewhere else. Injuries happen all the time, that's how we get the Kurt Warners and Ryan Fitzpatricks etc.

Well we're in the hot stove season, so disinformation is commonplace. But if we draft a QB in 2019, or if we try to win in 2019, I'm going to be extremely unhappy. If we don't tank this year, after all this build up, and we miss our window for a top QB wasting more years on reprocessed garbage, I'll be the first one to call for all of the decision maker's heads. We were in full tank mode and in 1st place in the Suck for Luck sweepstakes, and then a backup QB and a fired coach went on a meaningless winning run at the end of the season costing us a decade of good football, all to get back to 6-10. I can't stomach more failsauce like that.

Yes Grier needs to attend every top Qb personal day and heap praise on each one lol

One can never be wrong by using the word "might."

Well, they could be wrong if they said something like "I admire Rosie O'Donnel's might." Not that anyone would actually say that … I'm just sayin' … hypothetically.

There's no generational talent in this QB draft. That means we can't afford a QB right now. I would totally take a late round flyer on the kid from NC State though. Everyone else will be gone.

Just for the hell of it, pick up Trace McSorley...might get some production out of our tight end!

We might draft a first round punter. We might draft me!
