We need to deal Marshall for draft picks

Last year Henne played like a JV High Schooler. Our offense was a joke in general, and Marshall STILL had over 1000 yards, even after missing 2 and half games. I would take Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and probably Miles Austin over Marshall. That's about it. If people are being truly objective and stop letting their emotions get the best of them, they would see Marshall for what he really is...

And maybe if you would stop being a homer you would see BM for what he really is - overrated with a dysfunctional personality.

Give marshall too brady and watch him catch 120 balls....physically and talent wise only andre, calvin, and fitz compare. Marshall just isnt in a good position right now

Wes Welker catches 120 balls with Tom Brady... what's your point?

Having a dominant #1 receiver now isn't as critical as it used to be. A shutdown corner or double coverage will take him out of the game.

What you need now is a DEEP set of receivers to create matchups, a weapon at the tight end position, and a franchise quarterback.

Yesterday was an absolutely typical Brandon Marshall game as it contained 4-6 catches, 1 or 2 drops on the ones you really need him to make, and at least one completely boneheaded play - usually a stupid penalty although the the week before it was burning a timeout for no reason. You can't win championships with so much invested in a player like that. Only geeks, Marshall and his accountant care how many yards he gets in a season

Next season onwards he's earning 9m a year. Personally I'd rather spend that on a player who can actually make a difference. Hell I'd rather spend it on our punter right now

Marshall was brought in here to be our big guy in the red zone, someone that can go up and get passes over defenders. Instead, he's been a possession guy who can't stretch the field. He's great after the catch, and a solid blocker, but when you see him committing personal fouls and throwing tantrums like a spoiled brat, do you really think the investment was worth it? I say get something for him while his value is still high and before he has a meltdown on national TV and gets labeled a cancer. Henne prefers going to Bess more anyway, so it's not like he'll lose that outlet receiver. We're losing this season anyway, so why keep an overpaid crybaby around when you can get future value for him?

So we create a hole on offense to attempt to fix a hole on defense? I don't understand the logic. If we get a new coach and draft a QB, Marshall will be fine. Who would we have start? Hartline?
you mean if we get a new QB then Marshal will stop droping TD's in the end zone?

Ozzy rules!!

I never ceases to amaze me how players want big $$ contracts then proceed to **** the bed.

Could be worse fellas.. we could've over paid for Chris Johnson.

Assuming we find our franchise QB, I think he will be better off with Marshall around. The alternative is trading Marshall for picks and having Hartline be our number one WR and drafting a young WR with the picks. IMO Marshall would be a nice target for any rookie QB, again assuming we get the franchise guy everyone is looking for.

There would have to be a 1st round pick involved or no deal.

My bad, I thought I was talking to an adult. If I wanted to debate with someone who resorts to name-calling and doesn't use rational thinking, I would have gone to the local Middle School...

Who would be stupid enough to trade for Brandon Marshall?

(I had to almost give him away to get rid of his slow speed and huge contract in a Madden Online franchise)

Brandon Marshall just admitted a couple of days ago in the newspaper that he DOES NOT HAVE GREAT HANDS and he DOES NOT RUN GOOD PASS ROUTES.

But somehow he is a Alpha WR? What am I missing?

With the Giants and Titans both losing top WR talent and our season on the rocks, the FO needs to take advantage of this situation and build for the future (regardless of whether they are a part of it, or not). We should be able to get what we invested in Marshall (2 second rounders) and maybe more if a bidding war ensued.

A couple of news sources have said that Ireland's job may be safe, and if that's the case he needs to set himself up for success and deal some of our high-priced talent.

Sadly, im inclined to agree with you.

No clue as to what Hartline DOESN't DO that warrants critique of him. He's the epitome of a solid #2.

you guys are unbelievable!! the same ones clamouring about getting a dynamic WR,and the moment we get one you want to trade him away???

I GUARANTEE as soon as we come out and throw for 210 yards in the 2012 season opener, the same ones that wanted to trade Brandon would be posting,"you know....we're really missing a good #1 WR".

smh....you guys are unbelievable!

Again, people gave me crap for wanting to draft Amukamara and now people are advocating trading Marshall for a CB?

This is getting off topic. I didn't want to start a whole thread over it, but what about attempting to trade Henne? If it looks like we are going to finish with the worst record, why not. Some team may give up a decent offer. I doubt it but just wondered what you all thought.
