We Need To Trade/Sign Another CB

I know he's old but, Eagles have been trying to get rid of Asante Samuel, although if memory serves me right he has some ridiculous contract attached to him.

Then again I've always had this idea of putting Sean Smith at FS and Clemons at CB.

The front office is too cheap and inept to pick anyone up of consequence. They could have gone after Nnamdi in the off season, but nOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

So Davis has a horrible game, plays worse then Smith. And it is Smith who needs to be replaced or upgraded?

I don't get how so many overrate Davis

I think we need a pass rusher urgently... If a QB has that much time to throw (like Brady did), I don't care if we had Revis and Davis out there, they would look vulnerable..

If we manage to swing a trade for Cromortie id be estatic. I dont hate Smith, but we need more help in the secondary. Maybe Smith can play FS? I dont know how hard the transition would be, but if he can improve in his tackling he would be a great FS. If not, lets send them Smith and a 3rd. Id rather keep Smith but i wouldnt be too happy about giving up a 2nd for Cromortie.

PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAID ABOUT SURTAIN AND MADISON!!!!

Surtain and Madison were the same as Smith and Davis in terms of PHYSICAL PLAY. One played hard the other soft.

Davis gave up one play early and nothing significant after. Smiths tackling has nothing to do with his coverage.

Watch the game this Sunday and watch how much more effective Smith will be on Johnson then Davis will be. Playing physical is not always best.

true head the dime on the head and if im not mistaken both madison and surtain .onehad i belive 8 ints and the other had 9 ints in there first year with miami. imo if i could, i would trade vontae and smith in a heart beat for pat and sam when they were in there prime .

NOT MINIMIZING HOW GREAT PAT AND SAM were but you do realize that there Pro Bowls were only with Brock Marion at Safety?

It is asinine to expect Davis and Smith to be as good as Pat and Sam were playing with Brock. Those 3 are 3 of the best to ever play in a Dolphins secondary and they played together.

It has more to do with scheme then anything. Hell they didnt even switch Wake and JT to see if JT could be more effective on Solder.

As I said in another thread. Two good corners does not cut it anymore in the modern NFL. The Eagles have 3 good corners because they are smart, and trading one of them would be stupid. They were playing A Samual on TE's in the last game and he was a blanket on them.

There was only one catch made on Sean Smith last night. He does not have to be a great tackler if no one can catch a pass on him.

I say trade for Asante Samuel and let him or Smith cover the slot WR with Davis on the other side, then we would have three CB's that can cover....now if we can find a LB who can cover the TE's the defense would be set.

Well we just cut our late vet CB pickup from last year after one game so I'm not sure Ireland has the best track record with this.

listen bell is not as far off as you think from being as good as what marion was ,surtain and madison made marion look as good as he was and imo if bell had played with pat and sam we would see the same results .

This statement is not accurate at all... Sean Smith also gave up a TD to Hernandez in the end zone and a few other catches...
