i want SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell us all WHY desean jackson would choose us over the patriots?

he is a wr and given a choice to catch passes from hall of famer tom brady [who is showing no signs of slowing down] OR won nothing, done nothing, still a big question mark ryan tannehill, who do you think he would choose. if your were a big time wr, who would YOU choose?

the only hope [and thats if the team is even interested] we have of landing desean is if he is ONLY about the money and we blow any and everyone away with MASSIVE dollars.

he is going to the pats. if they pass, then he is a new york jet. i dont see any other big time team with the cap room and need for his services if the pats bawk, MAYBE seattle. and that would leave him wanting to go to the team of the moment, the "this is the place to be" team like the browns. the jets always have a big buzz and now with all the geno hype and mike vick signing, that is a very logical place for him to be, PLUS they have huge bux to spend and its a big need.

we have NOTHING to offer desean jackson at this time unless he is all about the contract and we offer MUCH more than anyone else.

There's a massive difference between someone saying the n word and someone who associates with known gang members and flashes gang signs during games.

I agree that there is a difference. Jacksons actions if he's truly a gang member, could be self destructive and potentially ruin his career and maybe life.

Cooper on the other hand saying what he said, especially in a locker room where the majority of the men are black, could potentially fracture the teams chemistry and maybe its racial harmony.

i agree. The whole "we want character guys" is a freakin joke. Most NFL players are NOT high character guys. That rationale is just that - rationalization by teams FO's to defend when they cut this guy or that guy. Go through every roster - there are punks on each one.

The Pats got away with the Hernandez murder ****, no comments about the big contract they gave him there you have it "the Patriots way" they'll stay away, no comments are made about the NFL network's ex employee accused of being a serial rapist D.Sharper, it's like he didn't exists, but the personal exchanges between two teammates become the big news.

No and yes. I don't truly think we will go after DeSean Jackson, he brings great risk and this regime likes to play it safe. A lot of teams will want to sign him to big money that we can't afford and he will go that route. But I do think the Patriots are salivating at the thought of signing him and if we can somehow deny them from getting him we should try.

no chance this happens for us...we got our 'star' WR last season & now we're stuck with him. There won't be enough cap room & after Bullygate, the alleged gang connection should frighten off Ross & co. Plus, as the other guys on here have mentioned, would actually be surprised if the Pats pick him up after the Hernandez fiasco, however, the Jets on the other hand......
