We need to try to sign DeSean Jackson or risk handing him over to the Patriots...

Pats just extended wilfork. They have a very tight cap. Plus Jackson is a deep threat and Brady's arm is shot for long balls

I'm tired of the Pats stealing talented players because other people are scared of his behavior issues. He would make our WR core elite.

I'm tired of reading how every single player is going to go to them no matter what. Good lord it comes up for literally every free agent. SIGN HIM SO THE PATS DONT!!!!! or the awesome, "if we let him go, the patriots will sign him and he'll become a pro bowler"

Pats are at their murder suspect quota for the year but Oakland however is well under the cap in that regard.

Dude. They opted to keep a receiver who dropped the N bomb on camera, that the whole country saw. Think about that.

How damaged must Jackson be, in order for the Eagles to make that choice?

Jets written all over this.

A 1 year prove it deal (trust factor) can't hurt, but we could actually spin it to our advantage if he does act up...we cut his ass faster then the speed of light and sight the lessons learned from the past...boom media eat me lol

Pats would be complete hippocrites if they sign him after getting all that BS praise for releasing Hernandez. Then again, they always get away with this crap and get prasied for it.

What gang ties does he have besides being from an area with high gang activity. Why has this never been an issue until the Eagles got rid of him. Much like the dirt tossed on T.O and McNabb. There may be some truth to this but we see a trend with the Eagles.

If this had been such an issue maybe he should've never been given a football scholarship, drafted, or signed to a lucrative contract.

... Or, we could poke ourselves in the eye with a sharp stick.

The answer to your question was on the first page.

Yet the Eagles' apparent decision to jettison Jackson likely had little to do with his performance on the field or a big-money contract that was slightly squeezing the team's salary cap.

Rather, sources close to Jackson and within the Eagles' organization say, it originally was Jackson's off-field behavior that concerned the front office. A bad attitude, an inconsistent work ethic, missed meetings and a lack of chemistry with head coach Chip Kelly were the original reasons for his fall from grace, sources told NJ.com.

And when the Eagles looked more deeply into why Jackson was missing meetings, they found that his friends were becoming a more powerful -- and negative -- influence in his life.

Then, suddenly, the Eagles had even more serious concerns when they were revealed by NJ.com -- Jackson's continued association with reputed Los Angeles street gang members who have been connected to two homicides since 2010.

Ever since New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested and charged with first-degree murder last summer, NFL franchises have been reevaluating how closely they needed to watch their players away from the field. And what Eagles executives saw in Jackson, a six-year veteran, was apparently a potential blight on the brand and a bad influence in the locker room.
