From watching the little bit of play of Davis and Taylor you can tell with your own eyes that they didn't know where they were supposed to be half the time. Brenner played almost every position on the line for Utah, he had a leg up on the competition due to that experience plus he was in zbs. Dallas was mostly in mbs.

Rookie DBs almost always look lost. Look at Dee Milliner for the Jets, even though he had a good game against us yesterday, he still had plays where he looked lost. The best teacher for a DB is experience and unfortunately Will Davis and Jamar Taylor were too far down the depth chart to get any.

I'm not sure who you're trying to blame...Philbin and the coaching staff for not getting these guys on the field or being able to teach them the scheme/playbook or Jeff Ireland for drafting these guys for not being smart enough to pick up the scheme/playbook.

When you consider the development of Olivier Vernon, Nolan Carroll, Jared Odrick...the amount of progress we saw from Egnew, Miller and Matthews I tend to think that player development is going pretty well. However, as I've stated before, our drafted players have a lower starting point than most because our GM sucks. The coaching staff has to work hard just to bring these guys up to the level of some other draft picks starting points. If on a scale of 0 - 100 most draft picks start at say 20...our draft picks are starting at 5...Egnew, Dallas Thomas were starting at more like 0.
 
sweet, right in the meaty part of the draft. My day can't get any worse.

It should be very entertaining at Radio City Music Hall in May with the Jets and Phins picking back to back. The Jet's fans were hating the Geno Smith pick last year, and they always screw things up, despite the face that Geno had a pretty nice finish to his season.

That's my point. I'm not sure exactly who to blame for the rookies not being prepared their first year for the past 2 years. Who's job is directly that? I don't think it's the scouting staff, because like you said the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th year guys came along just fine. The problem is the incoming draftees not being able to get on the field.

I agree with your scores. They didn't show anything their first years.
