We picked up another CB! (merged)

Tell you what, Jamar Fletcher played WELL for the Chargers last year. He'd be nice to still have. But I like Boston better.

Don't be surprised when the Phins pick up relative unknowns a'la NE. Alot of people questioned the Pats moves when they picked up low-profile players but injuries are inevitable and quality depth with starting experience is key in this system it seems. He's versatile and fast. Very fast if he were put at safety in a nickel or dime package so this is a good move by 2 men who know what they're doing.

As for the Seattle fan who commented that we are picking up their rejects, look at how many "rejects" are Super Bowl champions now.

Does anyone know if he played along side Will Poole in college??? Just an interesting thought....

Nasty
Richard was gone before Poole got there.

Seahawks fan here from Seahawks.Net/Scout...

Richard is a good player when he's healthy...which is about half a season. He was our nickel back last year I believe but now that we have Herndon, he would've been demoted to dime.

I think the move will benefit both teams because you guys need DB's and we desperately need DE depth. Sounds like Flemons might actually have some upside for us too...

Welcome to our board! Flemons still young and plays hard, was very difficult for him getting some playing time here in Miami, but I believe that in the right system, the kid can play....good luck

Well hopefully we wont have to rely on him too much. I think Flemmons can be a solid #2 DE for you guys. Wouldnt want him as my starter, but i also wouldnt be scared with him as a primary backup.

Good deal for both no doubt.

Can't.

Believe.

You said that.

No one has mentioned this yet, but doesn't Mueller have ties to Seattle ?? Could be he knows something about this kid...Flemons, as most mentioned would have found it hard to make the squad with our dearth of DEs...One of Richard's bios mentioned he was best in zone coverage D vs a man-to-man...could fit in here, but I still have never heard much from him...not necessarily a bad move, imo....

I honestly don't know anything about Kris Richard, but we do need depth in the secondary. Like it has been stated before, Flemons had no shot at making the team. I was never a big fan of Mario Edwards and the addition of Richard is creates some much needed competition. I trust Saban on this move.

He is our 8th cb

Healthy CB's on the roster:

1. Madison
2. Daniels
3. Howard
4. Edwards
5. Roundtree
6. Billy Parker (though hes really a Safety, hes listed as DB)

Richard gives us a 7th active DB. Remember last year we kept 5 active DB's all year long. This was a move that should have ben expected given our injuries to Poole and Mitchell.

Eiland has played at corner in camp.

Your know....Saban is really something!! After witnesing a few of the camps I was worried about our O-line and our D-backs. Saban goes out and gets two o-linemen with a nasty disposition (something we have lacked for several years) now he brings in a kid who sounds like a good fit for our nickle or dime packages. I'm not saying that these pick ups will come here and make mayor contributions right away but at least Saban is adresing our needs.
