Honestly, if Tannehill goes for a long time, we might as well call it a season. I love Matt Moore, but I don't see him being able to carry us for a playoff run if we lose Ryan. Devlin has been on this team for nearly 5 years, and what have we got to show for it? He is no closer to challenging for a back-up spot than he was when Moore arrived here.

I would rather use Devlin's roster spot for an extra receiver spot. That way we can keep an Armon Binns or Rishard Matthews for special packages that Lazor cooks up, or they can relieve one of our starters if they are gassed in the 4th. We would get more out of that spot with one of them, than we would with Devlin. It's risky but we get more utility this way.

Well back in 93' we had Marino go down who was followed by Mitchell which left us with an unknown unproven player for at least a week then we had I believe it was Deberg! For a couple until Mitchell got healthy!

And you want this for what a roster spot for some WR who may not be anything anyways! No thanks! I would rather keep the insurance and keep the 3rd QB!

Should have drafted a QB instead of Lynch and just gone with 2 QBs. That move would have freed up 2 roster spots and $3.5M in cap space. If Tebow wasn't such a distraction he'd be my backup and I'd keep a warm body on the practice squad as my emergency 3rd QB.

Gotta carry three QBs.

Disagree. There are QBs on the street now that are just as good as any 3rd QB we choose to carry. Really, if it comes down to using a 3rd QB youre pretty much ****ed anyhow, so why not use the extra roster spot on a WR?

The thing is, if both RT and Matt went down they would bring someone else in to start the next week any way. Devlin would not be better than someone they brought in off the street. Devlin will never be an NFL starting QB so we are wasting our time with him. If we keep a 3rd QB it needs to be someone else. I have seen all I need to see from Devlin.

The thing is, if we cut our 6th WR, he will get picked up before the day is out. If we cut Devlin he will still be around working at the local Taco Bell any time we need him.

You carry a third QB as that backup.

I'm not going to fight it out, but it's what I believe. Have three QBs under contract.

I agree with those that say we should only keep 2 QB's. RT, and Moore. If they both go down to injury, the season is over anyway. We can always sign Kyle Orton or dredge out the corpse of Vinny Testaverde for a couple "L's" at the end of the season.

That being said.... Domo Aragato, Mr Lobato: The Newly Signed Fins QB is Seth Lobato from Northern Colorado:

http://www.thephinsider.com/2014/7/2...qb-seth-lobato

"Lobato, a 6-foot-5, 229 product from Northern Colorado, was originally signed by the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted during May's selection process. He was waived on June 2 by Indianapolis.

As a senior at Nothern Colorado, Lobato threw for 2,725 yards and 16 touchdowns. In 2012, as a junior, he threw for 2,797 yards and earned Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention, with an additional 2,448 yards passing and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore, his first full year of play.

Prior to joining Northern Colorado, Lobato spent a year as a red-shirt freshman with the University of Colorado.

To make room for Lobato, the Dolphins have released fourth string quarterback Brock Jensen, again confirmed by Hirschhorn. Most likely, Lobato is simply a camp arm the Dolphins are hoping performs better than Jensen did. The best case scenario is he can come into camp and at least challenge Devlin for the third quarterback position."

Keep two on roster and then a third on PS.

The real question you have to ask yourself is would you rather keep a player that actually has real potential to develop (or help out somehow rather than just riding the pine all the time) or a 3rd string QB that will most likely not play a single down all year long.

The 3rd string QB doesn't take up space on the active roster and if they coaches like Devlin then they should keep him, it's not like we're going to have Moore indefinitely. I mean, I like the guy, but I'm kind of surprised we still have him now.

You still keeo 3 QB's . A 3Rd stringer still does alot during the season and who knows he could be a diamond someday if Tannenhill falters! I like our wideouts but its not as if they are all that great! Wide receivers aee a dime a dozen . More easily found than qbs that play in a certain system!

IMO, You carry a third only if your third has more value than the guy you cut in his stead.

Finding a 3rd string QB with the talent of Devlin is a lot easier to do than a starting caliber WR. We have 6 WRs on this roster that is better than our 3rd WR was just two years ago. We have finally gotten some depth at the WR position we need to do whatever we can to keep as many as possible. I just don't see the need for a player like Devlin.

I'm going to go with the idea that a QB, any QB that has been with this team for a while, and has practiced etc with them, and already knows the plays etc, w
ill be a lot better then a QB off the street.

Many here will hate the the very idea of this and I'm sure to get at least one "no thinks" but I would bring in Tim Tebow. If we are losing QBs due to our OL not doing a good job of pass protecting, I'd use Tebow in the spread option (which he ran at the U of Fl and at Denver and it is the offense that Tannehill ran at A&M), I'd allow him to pound the ball with himself and Miller running the ball and add a few PA bombs to Mike Wallace and play tough defense.

He beat us in the 7th week of 2011 playing that style and I still have a copy of the week 11, Thursday night Bronco vs Jets game where Tebow won the game running the football.

Watch this clip and his 20 run TD run to win the game. I only believe that one "stat" is important and that is the final score of the game.

DENVER -- Tim Tebow's 20-yard touchdown run with 58 seconds left capped a 95-yard drive and sent the Denver Broncos to a 17-13 victory over the stunned New York Jets on Thursday night.

Tebow saw the blitz and outflanked safety Eric Smith around the left edge, then cut back and bulled his way past other Jets into the end zone.

The Broncos (5-5) are 4-1 since Tebow replaced Kyle Orton.

The Jets (5-5) lost their second heart-breaker in four days. Mark buttfumble's desperation pass toward the end zone was batted down as time expired.

P.S. I love where for about the 4th time in the game, D Revis does not even try to tackle Tebow.

P.P.S. ROFL, is Mark Sanchez's last name being auto changed to buttfumble here?
