Weaver's plan at CB

Points given up of coarse. But is that sustainable without sacks and turnovers? I believe we had the weakest SOS last yr so is that even impressive? IDK i obviously could be wrong and he may very well be great. I just don’t see anything pointing to that.
Cumulative stats and boxscores can provide clues, but don't tell the entire story. How much were those numbers influenced by the gong show at backup QB and OL, who repeatedly put the D in short fields and bad situations, after 3-and-outs or turnovers? How much to missing our top 2 pass rushers? How much to replacing the bulk of Christian Wilkins' snaps with a 38yo? How much to David Long falling off a cliff, and being replaced with various journeymen from the scrap heap? How about Kendall Fuller being damaged goods?

I'm not for or against the guy being our Plan B, but I'm yet to hear anyone voice specific concerns about his scheme or his ability to inspire pro athletes.

On the plus side for me, he got a lot out of the talent that was available, and was part of the development of some young players. I liked some of the stuff he had the secondary do after the snap, and his calls for the DL evolved to their strengths, eventually. He also may have revived Jordyn Brooks' career.

On the negative end, I thought some of his evolutions came slowly, both in game and week-to-week. We can't know how much of that was due to being new to the team or dealing with backups at many positions. Perhaps the thing that gives me the most pause is that he was passed up in Baltimore. Even in that case, did he lose himself the job, or was Orr so good that he took it? And continuing with the Ravens' situation, I've hated most their moves at OC under Harbaugh, and would be worried about him retreading one of them, if he got the gig.

In any case, we'll never know what goes on behind closed doors, but we could pattern ourselves on much worse than the style of D that Weaver brings, IMHO.

Chubb didn’t have an Achilles injury. And earlier in this thread people are still talking about JP’s Achilles.
You talked about a knee, not an Achillies, so which is it? Chubb has the serious knee a year ago with the patella and such, and Phillips had a partial ligament tear, no additional damage. Phillips has the Achillies a year ago, knee this year

Personally, I don't put much stock into that. While it is probably true, experience tells me that situation is common within most organizations. There are always those who don't agree with all of their boss's opinions/decisions. Even very successful teams have malcontents.

As far as Omar's statement? Define "multiple" Two? Seven? Twenty? Context matters here.

If it is 3 or 4, meh. If it's 20, including offense, that's a completely different scenario. Is it not?
He said one of the players is Jalen Ramsey and it’s one of the reasons why he’s asked out.

No. I asked why people are still talking about JP’s Achilles.

Probably a few guys on the Defense.

if we are smart, we should fire McDaniel as soon as we see more of the same in 2025 and promote Weaver and offer him our HC job during the season.
I think the offense should be much better than last year. I've been up and down on Tua but I've always said that since Conner Williams went down Tua has not had a strong run game to rely on. We have finally brought in some talent at Guard and I believe we have 2 very good tackles with Jackson and Paul, Armstead said it's Paul's time and it is. He is a massive man and we need him to play well and stay healthy. Jacko can do the job if he can avoid going down. We were in 2nd and 12 more than I like to think about last season and that's why we had so much trouble. With the new talent the oline just needs snaps together to gel into a quality unit. Not much depth here behind the starters. Very quietly we added Ollie Gordon in the 6th round. When I watch tape on this guy I see a perfect fit for our needs. Not a burner or a slasher Ollie Gordon has superb vision and tons of power and the first contact never takes him down. I am hopeful that our weakness in short yardage is a thing of the past. If the run game clicks it will open up play action and Tua will pick teams apart. You can't put it all on Tua or it doesn't work. We need to force the defense to respect our run game. Once that is done it's Hill, Waddle and Achane over the top. We can go on offense as far as our oline takes us. I didn't have much hope for this season but the draft was a good one and now we have a chance. We need good luck from the Football Gods regarding injuries this season!!
